So here I am, a month later with some successes, failures, and stumbles along the way. It’s been the most fun, stressful and tolling month ever. From moving 511 miles away to start a new life, leaving everyone and everything behind, to realizing that my majors are just a pain in the ass sometimes.
I miss my absolutely amazing friends and camp family back home. I stand in front of the photos hung up on my wall and smile, remembering the happiest times of my life. They were my rock in high school, and I couldn’t have made it through those tough 4 years without those weekend trips to New Jersey, senior prom sleepovers, road trips to D.C. and endless laughs at summer camp. I miss those days so much, but I know that break will come sooner than we know.
Ohio has given me so many things that I will forever be grateful for, including a new group of girls to call my family in Alpha Omicron Pi. They are a hilarious and open-hearted sisterhood; it’s such a blessing to have them in my life. Thank you to all my amazing friends for stressing over bio with me, cracking jokes to cheer me up on stressful days, telling me things will look up and that everything will be okay. College is stressful, but I know that they are always by my side through good and bad times.
So here’s to the late night caffeine rushes, looking up at the stars at night, late night karaoke sessions and best friend reunions to come soon!
Sincerely,
The small town girl
