Valentine's Day is a holiday that most people want to spend with that one person they love most. The classic flowers, chocolates, and a fancy dinner are always nice but this year try changing it up a bit. Romance can be found in a multitude of ways you just have to create a scenario that is best for you and your partner. Valentine's Day is what you make it, not what you see in movies or what is "supposed" to be. So if you have waited until last minute to make plans, here are a few ideas that are not so routine.
1. Go to a basketball game.
Not every girl loves sports, so guys don't just assume. But many of us do! Basketball is in full swing in February, as we get ready for the ever popular March Madness. if there is a game going on near you it is a fun, less pressure way to spend the night.
2. Order some pizza and go star gazing.
Valentine's Day doesn't have to be expensive at all as long as you are spending it with that special person. Star gazing is such a beautiful experience and will truly make you feel closer to that person you are experiencing it with.
3. Find a local painting class.
Painting classes are becoming more and more popular and they are great for those of all ages and skill. This is a great way to be crafty and have a little fun. They are also almost guaranteed to have a Valentine's Day themed painting that night!
4. Watch the sunset on the beach.
The beach is one of the most relaxing places you will ever go to. Being in that calm state of mind with the person you love is a special feeling. You can even bring a picnic and enjoy the beauty of the sunset.
5. Stay home and enjoy each others company.
Too many people are way too busy now-a-days. It is hard to make time to just sit on the couch, watch a movie, and cuddle with your partner. Put down the phones and just enjoy each other, maybe order some takeout!
6. Be a tourist in your own city.
Every city has their "tourist" aspects. Find those things you have never done before in your city and go do them with your partner! Whether it is a segway tour, a walk through a museum, or jet skiing you are bound to have a good time.
7. Play putt-putt golf or go to an arcade.
Just because you are not a kid anymore doesn't mean you can't still go play in arcades. Arcades are great bonding experiences as well as some competition. Also, if you're lucky you can win a prize and not have to worry about finding a Valentine's gift.
8. Embrace your youth and go to a trampoline park.
Enjoy yourself. Valentine's day doesn't have to be stressful and a lot of pressure. Go to a place like a trampoline park where you can both unwind and have some fun.
All in all, as long as you are enjoying each other and doing something you both enjoy you will have a great Valentine's Day. Dinner is nice, but try to think outside the box and find an activity where you both will have fun. Don't put so much pressure on yourself, it is just a day. Spend time with those you love and enjoy the time you have together.
