What You Can Do To Help

Another Act Of Violence Committed
The National

It’s happened again. Another <Act of Violence> has occurred in <City/Country>. We as humans can no longer ignore <Perpetrators> continually committing <Act of Violence> innocent people. How can we sit idly by while these atrocities continue to be committed? The day we stop fighting for freedom for all is the day we lose our humanity. Despite our best efforts, somehow #PrayFor<City/Country> is not solving the problem. Talking about it is only the beginning.

Our only hope is that the <My Political Party> in Congress can hope to pass reform despite the resistance from <Other Political Party Because There Are Only Two Types Of Political Expression>. After all, the world’s problems can be solved by the American political machine, so once <Other Political Parties> decide they want to get off their asses and try to do something they can join <My Political Party> in coming up with a solution. So relax, they’ve got this covered. If they didn’t, why would we keep re-electing them? As long as you can be bothered to change your profile picture to stand in solidarity with <City/Country> and prove that you, too, are saddened by death, you’re solid.

I know voting is really hard and you enjoy the privilege of isolating yourself from the issues of the world so that you don’t have to worry about who is in office, but unless you have tons of money or time to donate to the cause, the best thing you can do is elect smart and caring leaders who can. (Note how I said leaders, because the presidency is only one office up for reelection) The only way to dissolve partisan fighting is to elect people who weaken that establishment. This is one small, meaningful thing that literally any adult American can (in theory) do. Please. Please. Please. For the sake of the world, make it a priority this year.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
