5 Ways To Make Sure Your Game Day Outfit is Straight Fire

Something I didn't anticipate while coming to college was how serious game day looks really loo. Seriously, some people are dedicated. I began freshman year with not a lot to work with- just a couple of my school's t-shirts, and a few sweatshirts I had laying around. How creative can you get with that? It wasn't long after my first football game that I was tearing my closet apart, looking for anything that contained one of my school colors. What I found particularly helpful were accessories. Accessories let you play around with your style and are a great way to represent your team on Saturday games.

As football season kicks off in just less than a month, a fun way to get ready is to start shopping for the tailgating photoshoots you and all your roomies will have. A helpful tip I have is to start by looking on Pinterest or your favorite, college Instagram influencers. You can find all of your inspiration there, and can take your ideas to your local stores- like Walmart or Target- where you'll usually find very similar (and lower priced) items!

Scarves/Bandanas

Classic Bandana

Head scarves and bandanas are great accessories to add color to any look- game day or not. They can be worn around your neck, head, ponytail/bun, or I've seen them wrapped around purses or belt loops, as well. You can find these in pretty much any color to match your school and they are super cheap, too! I know places like Party City and Walmart usually carry a wide range of colors and are generally under $5.00.

Colored Sunglasses

Colored Sunglasses

Colored lenses on your sunglasses are another inexpensive way to represent your school colors during tailgating, or at least for those cute Instagram pictures. Lets be honest- they don't provide the most protection, but hey, at least you look good!

Belts

Red Buckle Belt

Cinch those high waisted Levi's with a burst of color by investing in a new belt designated for Saturday games. Depending on your school colors, there is potential for this accessory to work it's way into your everyday wardrobe and bring color into your daily life. A great, inexpensive place to look is Forever21, and Urban Outfitters has some good options as well!

Colored Laces

Red Colored Laces

I'm a shoes girl. Big time. And when walking around campus all day, Vans are the way to go. I think nearly ever college student owns a pair, or at least a pair of sneakers they can switch out the laces on for a fun touch. If you're like most college students, its not ideal to purchase a pair of shoes just for game day, so some cheap laces and do just the trick. Colored shoe laces are inexpensive ways to transform your everyday shoes to game day ready.

Socks

Stripe Sock

Long socks are a subtle way to add a little something to your game day look if you're in need of something quick and inexpensive. The ones linked above add a sporty vibe which couldn't be more fitting. Wear these peeping out of some cute booties or sneakers, paired with a school tee, and you're set!

College sports fans are really dedicated when it comes to their game days if you yourself haven't already witnessed. Hope these ideas will come in handy this fall and might add excitement for the season to kickoff. Happy shopping!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
