As a senior in college, I am on my fourth and final winter break: the luxurious month-long vacation that's free of responsibilities and regimens.

It's something we college kids look forward to every year, and with so much time on our hands, it's no wonder there are 26 things – one for every letter in the alphabet – that winter break is all about.

1. A is for Adventures

It's the holidays, after all, and it's the perfect time to show loved ones just how much they mean to you with a heartfelt gift.

3. C is for Christmas

It's finally time for the celebration that's been building up all month.

4. D is for Decorations

From dreidels and menorahs to trees decked in ornaments, it's all about getting into the spirit of things.

5. E is for Eating

Holiday food up the wazoo.

6. F is for Family

There's nothing like getting to spend some time with the family you miss all year long.

7. G is for Giving

And I don't mean presents. Giving back to your community in the holiday season is one of the most gratifying things you can do.

8. H is for Hanukkah

As one of the most iconic winter activities, ice skating is something you can do to really get your holiday groove on – and get a pic for the Insta.

10. J is for Jingle Bells

*Cue the music*

11. K is for Kindness

How can you be in a bad mood this time of year?

12. L is for Love

Even those bitter to romance can't help but feel the love in the air this time of year.

13. M is for Memories

With a month off, there's plenty of time to make new and exciting memories that'll last a lifetime.

14. N is for New Year

Ringing in the new year means a time for new beginnings.

15. O is for Old Friends

One of my favorite parts about coming home is getting to see my friends from high school – when we're back together, it's like nothing has changed.

16. P is for Pets

You miss them terribly when you're away, so you better take every chance you get to hang with them.

17. Q is for Quiet Time

Let's face it – alone time is not something that's easy to come by in college, so having some quiet downtime over break is necessary.

18. R is for Resolutions

Naturally with New Years comes the opportunity to set some goals for the year ahead. Be it get more sleep or get in shape, any resolution that'll make you happier if a good one.

19. S is for Sleeping

Silence that alarm clock once and for all.

20. T is for Tunes

Even for those who don't celebrate Christmas, Christmas music is a staple of any holiday season.

21. U is for Unplugging

Winter break is the perfect time to finally detach yourself from your laptop and social media and focus on being present in the moment.

22. V is for Vacation

With a month off, winter break is the perfect time to go on a little vaycay.

23. W is for Winter

Of course, I had to include the break's namesake.

24. X is for eXtraordinary

The holidays are a magical time of the year, so there's no better time to do something special than this time of year.

25. Y is for Young at Heart

No matter how old, everyone seems to feel a bit more lively and exhilarated this time of year.

26. Z is for Zero Responsibilities

No projects, no exams, no worries.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
