Ah, Middletown Connecticut.

It's such a beautiful city with so many things to do and see. While there is definitely a lot of history to Middletown, it is also ever growing.

Let's take a small tour of Middletown with the letters of the alphabet, shall we?

A= Arrigoni Bridge

You know you are entering Middletown when you see this (otherwise known as the Portland Bridge for many)

B= Bars

You can't ever say there is nowhere for you to get a nice cocktail or beer because Middletown is full of bars. Take a walk down Main Street alone and you will walk by Eli Cannon's, The Hop Knot, Mezzo's, Tuscany, Esca Wine Bar, and so much more.

C= Coyote Blue

This is an amazing family owned restaurant with great margaritas! Margarita Up!

D= Dunkin Donuts

With five Dunkin Donuts in Middletown alone, you never have to worry about being without your coffee and donut fix.

E= Eight Elementary Schools

Middletown is home to eight different public elementary schools! MacDonough, Wesley, Bielefield, Farm Hill, Snow, Lawrence, Moody and Spencer School! When they all combine into middle school and high school, you can always see there is a still core group of friends that went to the same elementary school.

F= Foss Hill

Foss Hill is a giant hill part of the Wesleyan campus and it gets used for two different things for the public. During the winter, it is an amazing place to sled. During the warmer times, it gets used for Films On Foss where the community gets together and watches movies on a giant screen!

G= Gyms

Want to get your workout in? Middletown has many different gyms you can go to. WOW fitness, Club 24 and 9 Round are some of the few. There are places that do Zumba and other classes as well, you just have to look around!

H= Home of the Blue Dragons

In the past, Middletown had two high schools, but today Middletown High is home to the one and only blue dragons!

I= Illiano's

There is something amazing about Illiano's pizza that I can't even explain. They have so many different kinds of pizzas so there is something for everyone. Also, they give you tiny pieces to eat while you wait to pick up your food if you ordered it to go.

J= Jaywalkers- Wesleyan students

Middletown is home to Wesleyan, a beautiful private liberal arts college. Learning how to drive while living in a college town is definitely difficult when some college students have that "Hit me and pay my tuition" mindset.

K= Kid City

Kid City is a children's museum which has rooms full of fun things for children to see and experiment with. I can't lie, I have taken a child I babysat here just so I could revisit all the fun I used to have here as a child myself.

L= Lovely Places

Open your eyes to some beautiful places to see. Harbor Park is a beautiful place to just sit near the Connecticut River and watch some beautiful sunsets. The South Green, or Union Park, is also a beautiful place to just sit and relax (or play Pokémon Go).

M= Main Street

Main Street is beautiful full of amazing things. Take a walk around and look at all the restaurants and things to do.

N= Natural Foods- It's Only Natural

Not only is It's Only Natural a vegan/vegetarian restaurant, but ION has a market too across the street which sells natural foods!

O= Oddfellows Playhouse

Oddfellows is a youth theater which also does the circus! They put on performances and even do a summer circus camp! During certain Middletown events, they can be seen juggling and walking around on stilts.

P= Pizza

In Middletown, there are so many great places to get pizza and you'll love every single one. Mondo, First and Last Tavern, Jerry's, Matty's Next Door Sports Bar, Krust, Big Cheese, Luce... I can go on and on. Each place is delicious!

Q= Quizzed?

Okay here is something I just learned about Middletown, we have an adventure room! You have to solve your way out of the escape room by thinking critically and solving questions and just using your brain.

R= Russell Library

It's a great library what can I say. It's been around for a while too! Oh yeah, and if you're part of the library you can get discounted passes to different museums around CT!

S= St. Sebastian Church

The Italian-American church is a beautiful building with an amazing history. It has had 96 feasts celebrating St. Sebastian. (Throwback to the old private school. The last class of the private school graduated college this year. Shout out class of 2017)

T= Technical High School- Vinal

Vinal is Middletown's Technical School which allows students to "have the ability to take advantage of [the] Work-based Learning program, where they can earn credit while working during the school day in their trade."

U= Unique to Middletown- Wild Bills

While Wild Bills is a really cool nostalgia store, it is also home to the world's largest Jack in-the-Box! (RIP Wild Bill, your name will live on!)

V= Vecchitto's Italian Ice

Amazing Italian ice, for a cheap price too. They have their store on Dekoven Drive but you know if there is any sort of function going on around Middletown, the Vecchitto's Italian Ice truck will probably come by.

W= Wadsworth Mansion

Back in the 1900s, it was a summer home for Colonel Clarence S. Wadsworth and his wife Katharine Fearing Hubbard. Today it is used for weddings and public events such as music performances and festivals! Don't forget Wadsworth is also home to beautiful walking trails (15-mile perimeter or 5 mile inner Trail).

X= Xavier and Mercy

These are the private high schools in Middletown: Xavier is for all boys and Mercy is all girls!

Y =Yoga

Did you know there are four Yoga places in Middletown? Connecticut Yoga Center, Yoga in Middletown, Middletown Bikram Yoga, and Luna Vinyasa Hot Yoga Studio. Namaste!

Z= Zip Lining Adventures

You want to zip line but don't want to go to some far away mysterious land? Good because Middletown has a zip line place called Empower!

And there you have it, folks, a great city with lots of things to do and see, these are 26!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
