As we go through the daily encounters of our life, we tend to focus on what is setting us back or, in other terms, failing us. For example, if we have a setback at work, school, or in our relationships, we often let the negative outweigh the positive of what is to come next.
However, the setback we experience is more of a setup because what we may be going through at the moment is not permanent and it will not always be a permanent situation.
The setbacks we experience may, at the time, appear to be the worst thing imaginable, but as time passes, we can see it was a setup in disguise to show us we were strong enough to get through tough times. These types of setups show us that we are able to get past any negatives and that life has more to offer than the small or large setback we have encountered. I feel that this is important to keep in mind because as we go through these setbacks our brain cannot help but wonder "why me?" But, instead of questioning why you, look at it as a blessing in store for the future.
Patience is the key to future success and, in order to get to the setup, we have to go through the setback. Depending on our circumstances we would rather skip the setback and go right to the setup, but if we look at it from an outside perspective, we are lucky to be able to experience that setback. We now know that whatever is in store for our future will be much more than what set us back in the first place. We won't dwell on the negative outcome so much because we know the positive outcome will follow shortly after. I know this can be a challenge at times when we feel like everything is falling apart, but in the end, our outcome will make the setback seem small.
