People get bruises in many ways. They hit an object or an object hits them. Bruises take a while to go away. They bother us when they do not go away. Even the smallest bruises are the most painful ones. Some people wait for days and weeks for the bruises to go away. The wait is very long and irritating. However, we can make the wait shorter and less irritating. My family and I use a remedy that can make bruises go away as fast as possible. All we have to is to rub the bruise with a thin handkerchief that has hot rice on it.

Here are some steps to make this remedy. You have to make sure that you have a thin handkerchief. It cannot be thick otherwise the heat of the rice will not be effective. Cook rice on a stove or in a rice cooker. If you have leftover rice in the rice cooker, then you can still use it. You just have to heat up in the microwave. Heat up for at least thirty seconds but not more than one minute. Make sure the rice is hot after the microwave is done heating it. Once you know the rice is hot, put it on the thin handkerchief and rub it on your bruise. The direction of your rubbing must be like a straight line that is going down. Here is a picture of it to see how the handkerchief must look like when you put the rice on it.

As you rub your bruise, you see that the bruise has some red color. That is a good sign because it indicates that the heat is effective. The purpose of the heat is to get your blood and heat flowing to the blue color of the bruise. This will make your bruise heal as fast as possible. You must keep using this remedy for a few days until you think that you no longer need it. After those few days, you will see that your bruise looks better or is gone. You will also notice that your bruise does not feel as painful as before. So give it try and see if this helps with your bruises.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
