New Years can be a bittersweet experience. Many of us reflect on our year in a more positive light, whereas others of us look at it in more of a negative way. Thinking back on my time this year, I found myself having significantly more positive aspects than negatives.
January:
2018 began for me my second-semester senior year of high school. This was the time that I heard back from Syracuse and my senior slide could begin. Putting down my payment was one of the most satisfying and reassuring things I have ever done. It was an amazing start to the year and started it off with a bang.
February:
February was the month this past year where I chose my roommate on Facebook. While applying to colleges, I was always very nervous about finding the perfect roommate. I ended up choosing one of my best friends in college and it worked out amazingly.
March:
March was the beginning of the best lacrosse season of my high school career. As it was my last season, I was very ready to crush the season and make it to states. We had a new coach for the season and the outcome was looking good for us. March was the month that we began our season and bonded as a team.
April:
In my high school, for the last quarter, the senior class was expected to participate in some sort of internship. This was a great month because it took us out of the typical routine in high school and allowed us to do something different for a change.
May:
May was one of the best months because of prom, getting my braces off, and our state champs for lacrosse. This was my first prom without braces and it had one of the best locations in years and the food was honestly amazing. In addition to this, my team and I ended up making to the state championships for the first time in 10 years for my school. It was a great way to end my last season.
June:
Graduation month!! I finally graduated on June 1st, and this was a month full of graduation parties and trips for me and my friends to celebrate the end of high school.
July and August:
July and August consisted of preparing for college and working. My mom and I would always find ourselves picking up more and more items more my dorm every time I left the house. Finding the perfect set up for my dorm was one of my favorite things to do.
September:
September was the beginning of Syracuse. I met some of the best people who have grown to be my best friends and I realized that I chose the right college for me.
October:
October was my first Halloween at school and it was the time that I decided on my major in policy studies. I became comfortable in the classes I was taking and I was truly excited about what I was learning.
November & December:
November and December were months that school picked up a significant amount and where many of my midterms and finals were. Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks have been a great way to relax and recollect after a long semester.
Overall this year has been amazing and I am looking forward to what 2019 has to bring.
