New York: Don't Count Us Out

We are hurt. Hurt beyond belief.

Death and destruction are all around me and

there is absolutely no relief from this soul-crushing pain.

There's a split-second in the morning, right when I wake up, and I forget.

It's a blessing.

Then, reality comes crashing down on me.

It seems hopeless, dead bodies in trucks, people buried in mass graves

and everyone seems to know someone that's sick.

New York.

There is no end in sight.

Oh, New York. You're breaking my heart.

The city streets littered with gloves and masks.

The silence is the worst.

New York is on pause but we are not stopped.

The rest of the country and the world can thank us.

We are the best people to deal with this.

New York is no stranger to struggle and we will never forget our past.

We are on pause eagerly waiting to press play.

So, don't count New York out.

We always bounce back because that's our way.

We are home to some of the smartest and resilient people in the world.

New York will get through this.

We will draw upon reserves of strength and tenacity that the world never knew we had.

But we knew. And we trust.

Say a prayer for New York and don't EVER count us out.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
