How To Survive A Long Flight

Having been abroad many times and on many flights from country to country, I can say that I have learned a thing or two about traveling long distances and sitting in cramped areas for multiple hours. Traveling all the way to Europe a couple months ago and now being in China and traveling the long and dreading time of 13 to 14 hours can be extremely gruesome. Because of traveling these long distances and time, I have definitely gotten more comfortable flying on an airplane and sitting down for an extended period of time in a crowded space.

The beginning was the absolute worst. When I was just beginning to go on airplanes that often and going abroad, I used to get motion sickness all the time. One good tip that I learned was that you had to go in flying on a relaxed mind and spirit. The more relaxed I was and the less I dreaded the long flight, I felt completely normal. I had the motion sickness even for shorter flights, like ones that were only 5 hours long, and it was extremely unfortunate that I went to an out of state school. But, the more relaxed and comfortable I felt, the better the longer flights became.

When I initially flew to Europe, it was extremely uncomfortable in that I was in such an enclosed space for a long period of time. However, this time, flying to China, I was completely relaxed, watched many movie and listened to music and time went by really fast. The long and dreading flight of almost 14 hours was a completely relaxed and normal experience. If you asked me before all this traveling, I would have definitely told you that long flights would be horrendous. However, after my experiences and tips that I learned, long flights are not as dreading as they seem.

Just keep in mind that when you fly for long hours and long distances, keep yourself relaxed and comfortable so that you won't experience any bad symptoms. Although it is not as good as a tip as it may sound, it is the best tip for people who dread flying long distances. Being relaxed and believing that the flight won't be dreading is the best way to go on a long airplane flight.

In the beginning, I used to get really sick and motion sensitive to being in such a cramped area for a short and long period of time whether it be 5 hours or 13 hours. However, with traveling a lot, I have gotten used to being used to sitting down and watching whatever was on the screen or just simply listening to music or reading a book. Before, I could not do anything because any motion would get me extremely dizzy or sick. But what I learned was to just relax before flying and not being in such a down mood knowing that you would be dreading the flight. This made my sick nd `

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
