Stan Lee died yesterday at the age of 95, but his death was not the end, he is leaving behind one of the biggest legacies in comics.

His story beginning in New York City on December 28, 1922. From his story to the stories of our dreams, Stan Lee brought to life our favorite superheroes. Stan Lee went to work for the company that would become Marvel Comics. With artist Jack Kirby, Lee brought to life the superhero team the Fantastic Four in 1961. After the incredible response of the first comic, Lee was soon responsible for creating the popular characters of Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk and Thor.

"As far as I'm concerned, a really great comic-book story is every bit as creative and important as a great story done in any other form of the media."—Stan Lee

From the comic books to the big screen, Lee's comics were soon brought to life. From the "X-Men" comic book in 1963 to 20th Century Fox obtaining the film rights to the characters in 1994 the franchise began its climb. The Marvel Universe which consists of all of the characters from his comics that Lee was able to bring to life. People like Robert Downey Jr. and Hugh Jackman bringing some of his most beloved characters to life, Wolverine and Iron Man. Beginning with "Iron Man" in 2008 which would lead up to one of the biggest superhero movies of all time. All of these movies were brought together by one man. Lee's first cameo on the big screen is in the movie "Trial of The Incredible Hulk" in 1989, but it definitely wasn't his last. We all can look forward to Lee's final film cameo in the upcoming "Avengers 4."

"I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: entertainment is one of the most important things in people's lives. Without it they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you're able to entertain people, you're doing a good thing." – Stan Lee, The Washington Post

Through these superheroes, he was able to inspire generations of fans. During his time with fans and actors that were bringing his characters to life Lee made such an impact, he was humble and kind. The goodbyes seen around the world from those that got to experience who Stan Lee really was, shows what he really did for everyone.

"To Stan Lee: Thank you for making my childhood so much more exciting with your astonishing superhero characters. Thank you for inspiring me to think and dream big. Thank you for the "Hulk," "Thor," "Fantastic Four" and many others. You will be sadly missed." -Gene Simmons

"We've lost a creative genius. Stan Lee was a pioneering force in the superhero universe. I'm proud to have been a small part of his legacy and .... to have helped bring one of his characters to life. #StanLee #Wolverine " -Hugh Jackman

"Thanks for everything Stan Lee! What a life, so well lived. I consider myself extraordinarily lucky to have gotten to meet you and to have played in the world you created." - Chris Pratt

Just because he is gone doesn't mean his legacies won't live on.

Rest In Peace Stan Lee

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
