It’s that time of the year again… Time to head back to campus! For those of you much like me, making a list is the only way to ensure that you remember all you need. Here is a list of things to remember while packing for the fall semester. I made sure to include what not to bring as well! Best wishes for a safe and successful semester.

Things to Remember:

1. Twin Extra Long Bedding and Matching Sheets

2. Mattress Pad, maybe even a Pillow Top

3. Pillows and Pillow Cases

4. Towels

5. Laundry Detergent

6. Fabric Softener

7. Alarm Clock, mom isn’t going to always be there to wake you up and sometimes your phone is not reliable.

8. Area Rug, it gives the room homey feeling.

9. Full Body Mirror, perfect for picking out the perfect outfit for class

10. Wall Décor, Pictures, Quotes and anything that screams you!

11. Hangers, you can’t shove everything in your draws, besides no one likes wrinkles.

12. Iron and Ironing Board, like I said no one likes wrinkles.

13. Laundry Basket, don’t let it get too full.

14. Sewing Kit, I know jeans with holes are in style but not shirts with holes and especially not leggings.

15. Desk Lamp and Extra Bulbs (shhh.. hide them from res life)

16. Calendar or Student Planner, cautions due dates are closer than they appear.

17. Pens and Pencils, don’t show up to class without one.

18. Pencil Sharpener, I mean what’s the point of a dull pencil?

19. Tape Recorder, some professors talk fast, some are hard to understand and some are both.

19. Paper Clips, Rubber Bands and Tape

20. Stapler and Extra Staples, professors don’t like when the whole class askes to barrow theirs.

21. Calculator

22. Index Cards, great for studying and memorizing what’s really important

23. Highlighters

24. Extra Erasers, we all make mistakes.

25. Flash Drives

26. Printer with Plenty of Extra Ink and Paper

27. Extension Cords and Surge Protectors (hide those from res life during room inspections)

28. Extra Chargers for your phone or laptop

29. HDMI Cord, I mean who doesn’t love Netflix on the big screen?

30. Head Phones

31. Blue Tooth Speakers

32. Mini Fridge

33. Microwave

32. Microwaveable Mug, Ramen’s BFF

33. Sponge and Dish Soap, there is no avoiding washing the dishes.

34. Fork and Knife

35. Paper Plates and Napkins

36. Toilet Paper

37. Blow Dryer, don’t pop a fuse.

38. Hair Straightener and Curling Iron

39. Brush and or Comb, knots are not an option.

40. Hair Spray and Gel, one way or the other way to get your hair to stay.

41. Dental Products, Tooth Brush and Tooth Paste, Floss and Mouth Wash too

42. Nail Clipper and File

43. Nail Polish and Polish Remover, gotta keep those nails did

44. Hair Bands and Clips

45. Razors and Shaving Cream

46. Tweezers, who doesn’t love fleeky eyebrows?

47. Glasses and/or Contacts

49. Acne Medication or Pore Stripes, Stress is directly correlated with breakouts.

50. Cotton Balls and Cotton Swabs

52. Shower Flip Flops, communal bathrooms are not as clean as we all hope.

55. Umbrella and Rain Boots, the day you forget your umbrella is the day it rains.

57. Socks and Panties, you can never have too many.

59. Pajamas, were cute PJ’s to sleep because you never know who you’ll meet in your dreams.

61. Sweat Shirts and Pants, perfect for just about every occasion without a dress code

62. Leggings, need I say more?

65. Scarfs and Hats and Gloves, oh my

66. Your whole closet because lets be real we can’t live without any article of clothing.

87. Message Boards, hang it on your door and let your friends know where you are.

88. Dictionary, we all need a paper weight…

93. Cleaning Products

94. Travel Water Bottle, Refill in your dining hall for free!

95. Safe, lock your stuff up

96. Britta Filter, Make sure you drink plenty of water

97. Keurig for the coffee lovers and the late night studiers

98. Holiday Decorations, hide your Christmas lights from Res Life…

99. Lots of pictures, being away from your friends and family can be extremely difficult. Bring a piece of them with you on your college journey.

Things to Forget:

1.Your Fears, leave them at home. When leaving for campus you must not let fear get the best of you. It’s OK to be nervous and a little worried but never let it consume you. Your hard work has sent you on a path that is truly rewarding and life changing. Chin up and smile besides you packed all you needed so there is defiantly no room for your fears.
