9 Ways To Make The World Better In 2018

Goodbye, 2017! You’ve been a good one to me. I’ve had ups and downs of my own this year but I can say that it was an up. But of course, the world as a whole has had a lot of ups and downs also. However, as I think of what could be done to make 2018 amazing, here are a couple of things that came to mind that could make the world a better place.

1. Better treatment for the LGBTQ+ community.

They are humans too, no matter their sexuality.

2. Stop victim shaming.

Women are becoming more confident to speak out about being sexually harassed, but of course, there are those idiots who feel like they are lying. Why would you lie about being sexually harassed?

3. More diversity in Hollywood.

Which is why I’m excited to see Black Panther in February. This should happen more often where a lead is a minority.

4. Pass a clean Dream Act.

Hundreds of thousands are still at risk of deportation, don’t fight me.

5. More women and POC members of the House and Senate.

Holding office is more than just an old white man’s job.

6. Raise more awareness of mental health issues and suicide.

Not the disgusting way Logan Paul said he tried to do. Actually donating to organizations and spreading the word about it.

7. For older generations to stop calling the younger generation “lazy.”

We work our asses off! I had to work really hard in order to get into my top college choice.

8. Appreciate the life we’ve been given and know that there is happiness in a sea of darkness.

Because there always will be.

9. Have a leader who won’t talk about nuclear threats over tweets on Twitter and should actually focus on his job...

I may have been a bit salty while writing the last thing but needed to get it out...

There are definitely more things that could make the world better in 2018, but I listed some.

Please be a good year, 2018. The world needs it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
