9 Ways to "Deck Your Dorm" for the Holidays

As Christmas comes around the corner (and finals), many want a way to get in the spirit (or procrastinate studying). Here are some ways to "deck the dorm" in some holiday spirit!

1.) Christmas Lights

Lights are a simple way to brighten up the room and make it more like the holidays! Check out Ocean State Job Lot or Michaels for lower priced lights!

2.) Christmas Trees

No, you don't need a real one, but craft stores or Ocean State Job Lot has small trees for a small price! If you can't buy a tree, make one out of lights:

3.) Paper Snowflakes

All you need is printing paper, scissors and a ruler to "Let it snow" in your dorm. Here is a link on how to craft them! http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-3D-Paper-Snowflake

3.) Gift Wrapped Door

Wrap the door in wrapping paper and add a bow to make your door look like a gift.

4.) Themed Door

Construction paper and a little imagination can turn your door into a reindeer or a toy soldier.

5.) Holiday Themed Door

Add personalizations to make your door extra special this season.

6.) Hang Stockings

Hanging stockings in your room can be a cheap and easy way to make your room feel more like home.

7.) Use Items You Already Have

Cups make a snowman!

8.) Hanging Ornaments

Tie fishing line to plastic ornaments and hang from window or ceiling to make your room sparkle!

9.) Tinsel

Putting tinsel around the door frame or along the walls adds a pop of color and holiday to any room.

Make your dorm stand out and be unique! Show your holiday spirit this semester!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
