Even though you are still wearing shorts and soaking up the rays, Summer 2016 is coming to an end. You might even feel a slight breeze in the air as you load up your backpack to go back to school. I’m not ready for the summer to end, but I’m going to make the most of these last few weeks before school. Here's how you can, too:

1. Go to the beach

Everyone knows summer is bikini season. Take these last few weeks to rock your new suit and soak up the rays. Even if you’re landlocked, you can hit the pool and still get a tan. This is your last chance to work on your tan lines before the fall!

2. Take a Summer Road Trip

There’s no better time than summer to hop in the car with friends and go somewhere new. So add a road trip playlist, fill up the car and hit the road with your friends.

3. Treat yourself to a Spa day

I always need a little relaxation before the stress of Fall semester. Get your hair cut, nails done and even #treatyoself to a massage or facial. You’ve worked hard and played hard all summer; you deserve a little rest and relaxation.

4. Spend time with family

You’re leaving to go back to college and even though you’re excited to get back, your family will miss you. Spend some quality time with the fam and your pets since it’ll be a while until you see them again for the holidays. I don’t know about you, but I’m going to spend as much time with my dog before I have to say goodbye.

5. Take a nature hike

The weather is still warm, so there’s no better time to explore the great outdoors! Find a new hiking trail or go back to an old favorite. This is also a great way to keep yourself in shape before hitting the dining hall next semester.

6. Grill out with friends

I love grilling burgers in my backyard in the summer! There’s nothing better than inviting a few friends over, cutting up some watermelon and enjoying the summer nights. You can even grab a glass jar and catch some fireflies to relive some childhood memories.

7. Check out your local museum or aquarium

I’m a huge museum nerd, so I will be soaking up my dose of culture and history before I go back to school. Since I live close to New York City, there’s no limit to the amount of museums I can visit. On a rainy day, go to your local museum or aquarium to enjoy the local tourist attractions.

8. Take advantage of back to school deals

The one thing I have to do before the semester is hit up those sweet back to school deals. This is the perfect excuse to go to the mall and redesign your fall wardrobe. Time to invest in new boots, sweaters and jeans for the breezier months.

9. Eat some sweet treats

For me, summer mainly means one thing. Ice cream. The second the weather gets in the 80s, it’s time to try every ice cream flavor imaginable. Where I live, the huge ice cream hit this summer is Milkcraft in Fairfield, CT. Their Bubble cone and Cookie Butter Ice cream is to die for. I’ve driven an hour for this ice cream three times, so I can assure you I’m addicted. Eat as much ice cream as you can before it gets too chilly!

With school starting in less than two weeks, take these tips and soak up all the summer sun and fun you still can!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
