I absolutely love summer. However, I don’t love everything about summer.

While I adore being warm everywhere I go, participating in summer activities, and wearing the outfits I’ve had stashed away in my closet just begging for me to take them out, there are some pretty big downsides to the summer months that every girl knows.

1. Shaving.

Ladies, know the end of winter to mean one thing: you can’t hide your gorilla legs behind your leggings anymore. No more, “oh I’ll just shave tomorrow” when you’re running late in the morning. Nope, have fun adding an extra 12 hours to your morning routine!

2. Hair frizz.

Girls know the feeling all too well where you spend a good hour getting your hair to look amazing and then walking out just for it to be completely ruined by the heat of the day.

“Should I straighten or curl my hair?” I don’t know, you can try either but I bet God has a different plan for you today.

3. Sweat wiping your makeup off.

I just love going to wipe off the sweat from my forehead and wiping my eyebrow off with it! Sweating while wearing a hat and getting my foundation stained on it is also awesome. Want to feel like a melting clown? Summer’s got that covered for you.

4. Toenail maintenance.

Now that your UGGs are back in the closet, it’s time to whip out all your cute sandals. Fantastic, now everyone can see the old hag toenails you’ve grown all winter. Time to maintain your toenails for the next three months. Maybe you can do that once you’re finally done shaving.

5. Awkward tan lines.

Lying on the beach or by the pool is one of the most fun and relaxing things you can do in the summer. However, every good thing comes with a price. Remember to take off your sunglasses before you take a nap under the sun. Trust me.

6. Bugs and bug spray.

Oh. You thought you could have a nice picnic in the park, didn’t you? Guess you forgot you wouldn’t be the only one snacking! If only you had your bug spray that would make you smell absolutely nothing like awful chemicals that doesn’t protect you from being stung by bees and wasps anyway.

7. Smelling fabulous in general.

Who doesn’t love smelling like they just got finished with an intense P90X workout when you only walked from your house to the car? Armpit sweat unavoidably becomes a part of your identity in the summer.

8. Sticking to your seat.

That feeling when you forgot you were wearing shorts in the middle of hell and you stand up quickly and feel like the skin on the back of your legs just got ripped off of you like a band-aid.

9. Being constantly thirsty.

No. Not that thirsty.

But, you can go ahead and forget about being hangry because nothing compares to feeling like you’re in the middle of the desert with no body of water in sight. Summer has this magical way of making the task of finding a cold drink seem unnecessarily difficult.

10. Allergies.

Pollen everywhere. Summer means itchy eyes, runny noses, and, if you suffer from this unfortunate skin problem, eczema flare-ups. Enjoying summer becomes difficult when you constantly have the urge to hide in your bed snuggling with your bottle of Zyrtec.

Even though us ladies have to endure a lot of negatives during the summer, it still doesn’t make us wish it were winter again!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
