If you're a two-shot kinda guy or gal, please refrain from pre-gaming the bar, then buying six drinks there too.

Have you ever had one of those days where it seems like your life is the laughing stock of the universe? Yeah, we've all been there. Normally, after the day passes, it doesn't seem like a huge deal anymore- but regardless, days where nothing seems to go right are never easy to get through.

Have you ever had one of those days, ya know the really shitty ones like I just mentioned? And then, out of nowhere, someone shows the smallest act of kindness.. and... wait for it... you feel instantly better?

Fancy that! Being a good human as often as you can, with even the most minuscule tasks can completely turn around not only someone else's day, but possibly your own day as well. I'm going to help put a little sparkle in your step by giving you some ~super difficult~ ways to step up your game in helping yourself and those around you have a better day, every day.

1. Smile

I know this one is a stretch. Honestly, to some it might seem completely unobtainable. But if you try it, you'll notice something really, really great. People SMILE back! A smile isn't only shown when we're happy- it's scientifically proven that smiling can bring about happiness. Who knew?

2. Hold the door open

An act as small as this one does a lot more than it may seem. Not only if someone is right behind you, but if you wait for someone to walk in while they're a couple seconds out, I swear it makes them reconsider humanity for the rest of the afternoon.

3. Assist the homeless

If you go into a local store and buy a meal, a snack, a blanket, or even some random goodies that can be used every day, the look on his/her face will inspire you to want to give more. Some of my proudest moments stem from supplying various necessities and seeing the immediate look of gratification.

4. A compliment

Girls check out other girls and what they're wearing/what they look like way more than average guys do. So, why not make use of it? Think back to the last time a stranger gave you a compliment. Even if it was a while ago, you'll remember it.

5. "Please and thank you"

Another really complex one, get ready for this mind blower. Did you know, when someone serves you, you should say please and thank you? Shocker, but sadly it actually stands out in customer service when a customer is super polite. Chances are, you'll make that workers day.

6. Be patient

There's nothing worse than someone who is pushing past people, or is being an overly aggressive driver. Try not to be this dude. But, always keep in mind we never really know what that unhappy person is going through, so do your best to let it go.

7. Look when you walk

It's crazy, but often times, you cause a lot less hassle to everyone around you when you put your phone away and enjoy walking around without it. *hint- if you blackout and don't look up for 20 minutes while you're on your phone while walking down the street, chances are everyone and their dog despises you.

8. Don't be an annoying drunk

Please. If you're a two shot kinda guy or gal, please refrain from pre-gaming the bar and then buying 6 drinks there, too.

9. Respect those around you

Sounds cliche, but if you're the type of person that is disrespectful to any adult, it shows very bad character. It makes me so uneasy when a kid lashes out at their parent, and it makes me even more sad when someone isn't genuine to older strangers around them.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
