Skincare is a very important thing to do in your daily routine. Throughout the years I have tried so many techniques to help prevent my skin from any breakouts. Now my skin isn’t the clearest, but I think I have come up with some techniques to help better my skin. In life people get pimples, you can have the best skin ever, or even go on Accutane and still get acne. If you looked at my skin now you would probably think that I don’t have very good skin. The fact of life is that hormones and stress have can factor into acne and you can’t stop that. Therefore, my tips are to try to improve your skin, because unless you’re the luckiest person alive chances are you get pimples. Here are the nine tips to help improve your skin and prevent acne.

1. Wash your face at least once a day

Now you can use whatever face wash you want, personally, I use the St. Ives fresh skin apricot scrub. This is a deep exfoliant and since I have really oily skin this is what works best for me.

2 Moisturize your face

This is something people need to do no matter what their skin type. See if you think you don’t need to because you have oily skin you’re wrong. What will happen is your skin will dry out and your body will naturally produce oily, making your skin more oily than if you moisturized. I like to use the Clean & Clear dual action moisturizer. Now, this product has salicylic acid acne medicine that helps prevent breakouts. I just started this new thing where I moisturize in the morning and at night and I honestly say it’s making a difference in my skin.

3. Spray Mario Badescu rose water on your face

Spray the Mario Badescu rose water on my face. Not honestly this might be very unnecessary and may not be doing anything, but I still do it to help hydrate my face. Overall though this brand has really good skin care and can help with various problems.

4. Another trick I have learned over the years is to apply toothpaste on your pimples.

Now, this can be good and bad for the skin in a way and here’s why. Now, this trick totally work and does try out the pimples, but the downside is it dries out the skin surrounding the pimple. I do this if I want to get rid of a pimple fast, but there are also other products to use. Toothpaste can just be a very cheap way to do this. I know Neutrogena has an on the spot treatment that you but in at night and t does actually work. It will reduce your pimple to almost nothing by the next day.

5. Another thing that some people may know about or may not is to wash your pillowcase very often.

I personally wash mine once a week to try to get as much dirt off as possible but you can do it more often or every other week. This is so important to do because that is where you face lays for many hours out of the day. It is important to get rid of any dirt that’s there.

6. Don't touch your face a lot

Your hands collect so much dirt and bacteria that touching your face is the last thing you want to do. This is gonna cause so much unwanted acne and such an easy fix. I know that sometimes touching your face comes natural but the pay off for not doing it is better in the long run.

7. Another easy step to do when preventing acne is eating food that is good for you.

Eating greasy, fast food, or even food with lots of sodium is so bad for your health in general, not to mention your skin. Eating food that’s bad for you causes so many breakouts. Instead of eating pizza go for the salad. Instead of the mac n cheese go for a side of fruit.

8 Drink lots of water

It really isn’t good to be drinking pop or high in sugar drinks. Drinking water is better for your health and to help hydrate the skin. This can give you softer skin and an overall better natural glow.

9. Use a face mask

Now rice is supposed to be really good for your skin and if you have a sun burn it's really cooling on the skin.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
