Remember that movie series called "The Hunger Games" that came out a few years ago? Yeah, so it turns out it's like a real life version of getting lunch at Penn State. For those of you who don't go to Penn State or miraculously found a better place to eat mid-classes, the Hub is basically the national lunch headquarters of this school. From the outrageously long lines, to the limited available seating, and everything in between, it's seriously every man for himself. Here are some reasons why:
1. Everyone gets out of class at the exact same time so it's always complete crowds of chaos the moment you step inside.
2. You struggle choosing where to eat because literally all of the lines go on for miles.
3. This place is the sole reason why all your meal points go down the drain by the end of the semester.
4. Whenever you do see a few open seats, obviously someone is guarding them with their backpack for others just to make your life more difficult.
5. There's always a moment of doubt where you start to wonder if you can handle the cut throat competition surrounding you.
6. Sometimes you have to face the harsh truth that the line you're on isn't worth your time or your growling stomach.
7. Other times, you get pretty fed up about the whole lunch system and desperately want to tell the President of Penn State that this craziness must end.
8. All you want to do is chill out and enjoy your lunch but instead it feels like everyone is the enemy.
9. Yet somehow we keep coming back day after day hoping we'll have better luck next time.
Good luck on your Hub food ventures, everyone.
