You know what time of the year it is, the start of November. This means for most college students, you are probably about a month away from finals. It is the middle or middle-end of the semester and you just cannot seem to concentrate on any assignment you do.
So, I've created 9 Things that You Do Instead of Studying while I was attempting to study (obviously I failed).
1. Watch Netflix
This is an easy one. You start doing an assignment and say, "OK I'll just take one break and watch one episode. One episode turns into two, two turns into three...the next thing you know, you have watched a whole season.2. Eat
OK I do this when I am bored too. I always feel like eating comes to mind when studying, because food is delicious and the best distraction. Plus, some snacks help you think, so that's my excuse every time.
3. FaceTime
Because Facetiming someone else that is also
supposed to be doing work right now makes you feel less worried that you are
not working on the assignment that is due tomorrow. I mean you both will just
stay up late, so it's fine, right?
4. Scroll through election articles
I would rather be up to date on my current government and our country’s future than typing my US history to be honest. This election is my first time to vote so it is much more intriguing than my homework I have due tomorrow.
5. Message every group chat you're in
Most of the time you are so ungrateful that you are stuck in some group chats that blow up all of the time. However, those chats are there for you when you need it the most….when you’re procrastinating.
6. Play with your animal
If you’re lucky to have a cat, dog, or whatever animal in college, it is also a curse. They are so cute and cuddly that it is hard for them not to take your attention away from that writing assignment you’re working on.
7. Scroll through any social media
Another obvious one. Whatever social media you have, you name it, you’ll definitely be procrastinating on it. Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, etc. It’s a bad habit to break and such an easy distraction.
Especially when you are getting notifications constantly (even when you get stupid notifications like, "so-and-so made an Instragram, check it out).8. Take those silly quizzes on Facebook
Whatcelebrity do you look like? What Grey’s Anatomy character should you marry?
Which friends are your forever friends? OK half of the time these are not even accurate, but it is all for fun.
9. Watch videos on social media
Those cute cat videos really get me. I mean the cooking videos are only like two minutes most of the time too. Next thing you know, you’re watching a music video from 2002, wondering how you even got there from a cat video.
