Fall is right around the color and the excitement of it is in the air! It's that time of year again where we can all look forward to. Fall is especially enjoyable in Atlanta. Here are a few things to explore this fall if you're looking for some adventure:

1. Corn mazes

Now, these aren't specifically just in Atlanta, you can find them pretty much in Georgia during the fall season. But they're fun to do with some friends or as a cute, cheap date when you're looking for something fun to do without breaking the bank.

2. Haunted houses

Let's be honest, everyone is hype about these until October is over. Another wonderful thing about fall, Halloween!

3. Fall festivals

Atlanta holds hundreds of different festivals during the fall. Some to check out this fall are, Music Midtown, The Yellow Daisy Festival, Pride Festival and Parade, Taste of Atlanta, and more.

4. Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park

Every year, Six Flags hosts some fall events related to holiday celebrations. Fright Fest takes place in October and the amusement park is transformed into one huge haunted house. Holiday in the Park is during Christmas Time and they transform Six Flags into a winter wonderland.

5. Oktoberfest.

This festival takes place in Helen, Ga and is one of the city's biggest events. It's a weekend full of German celebration with food, music, dancing, and beer!

6. City Fall festivals

At the beginning of every fall season, a lot of cities around Georgia will host their own fall festival one weekend out the month for fun and celebration of the season.

7. County Fairs

Fall is the season where counties start hosting their county-wide fairs! If you don't have money for festivals or just want to have local fun, they county fair is something to always look forward to.

8. Pumpkin patches

It's a fall tradition to visit a pumpkin patch, can't get into the spirit without them.

9. Hiking

There are numerous mountains in Georgia to hike.They are especially beautiful and breathtaking in the fall when all the leaves are changing.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
