My little sister is cooler than me. It's a fact and I'm not upset about it. At 5'2'' and twenty-two months younger than me, I've still spend my whole life in her shadow. You would think that her ~cool~ might have rubbed off on me after 17 years, and yet I have never stopped being a near constant source of embarrassment to her. I don't plan on stopping anytime soon either. So, here are some things that happen when when your baby sister is cooler than you:

1. "Oh you're (insert little sister's name)'s older sister!"

Duuuuuuude, I was here first.

2. She's always better dressed than you, even in sweats

Oh so I got up an hour early, did my makeup and hair, and I have on a dress, but you just rolled out of bed prettier than me? Cool.

3. You get invited to parties because of her

We are actually both are both a lot of fun, thank you very much.

4. Boys love her

Having to explain to boys that she is only 17 when she comes to visit me at school makes my head want to explode.

5. Don't even get me started on grades

She is so smart and she doesn't even have to try.

6. The only time you get new followers on Insta is when she posts a picture with you

Though I could never catch up to her; she has double my follower count.

7. Playing on sports teams together got weird

Even when I was the captain and a starter, she got announced first and the coach usually called me her name.

8. Teachers always wanted to know how she was doing

"You had her two periods ago."

9. I end up third wheeling her and her boyfriend when I have no plans

It's really fun for me! Really!

10. She's always showing you the new music, clothes, movies, etc.

We get it, you're hip.

At the end of the day, I'm lucky to have her as my best bud, even if she is significantly cooler than me.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
