When I first moved to Starkville, I felt as if I were moving to a town which didn't have much to offer. But I quickly began to realize that that was not the case at all, and I would soon come to love many various places and things in Starkville. If you don't go to Mississippi State or you've never been to Starkville, I most definitely suggest making a trip to see these few spots and many others which I didn't mention.

1. Noxubee Wildlife Refuge

A place as beautiful as this should never be hidden or talked down upon. It's only about 5 miles from campus, so this destination is perfect for a nice day cruise after class, or picnic on the weekend.

2. Local Culture Frozen Yogurt

You may think "oh wow, that's just a fro-yo place, what's so special?" Well, let me just remind you how good frozen yogurt is, and how it's even better when you can customize your own however you would like.

3. Beauty of the Land

Because honestly who wants to be cooped up in some stuffy big city when you have this beautiful land.

4. ALL of the crawfish

Come spring, you best believe the crawfish will be in abundance for any sort of event or party. Little Dooey's does nothing short of perfection for crawfish.

5. MSU Baseball

What's better than watching cute boys in tight pants play a game while hanging in the outfield with all your closest friends?

6. The Slushy Gas Station

Honestly I was mad when I found out they were putting in yet another gas station, but as soon as it opened and I saw the unlimited slushy options, I knew I was content.

7. Bin 612 Cheese Fries

No words need to be said about how amazing these are, but Starkville couldn't survive without these decadent treats.

8. Small Town, Good Community

Although some people view the smallness as a downfall, but I find it rather nice that everything is pretty much on one street (except for the traffic).

10. Mississippi State University

There's nothing better than the university located in the town of Starkville.

Hopefully at some point you will get to enjoy these various Starkville locations, or maybe you already have enjoyed them. Either way I highly recumbent visiting these spots throughout Starkville to get the full experience.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
