Sometimes, a song can say it better than anything else. Luckily, there are plenty of songs that describe the love between a mother and their child. And while just playing a cute song for your mom this Mother's Day probably isn't a complete gift, it's a start.

1. Somebody's Hero - Jamie O'Neal

"She's somebody's hero, a hero to her baby with a skinned up knee, a little kiss is all she needs."

Odds are, your mom doesn't realize what kind of hero she truly is. Working, providing meals, making sure you've got everything you need - that makes your mom a true hero.

2. Who I Am - Jessica Andrews

"When the day is done, my momma's still my biggest fan."

No matter how far we travel or what craziness we get into, mom will still be cheering us on and right there to catch us when we fall.

3. Like My Mother Does - Lauren Alaina

"I've got her spirit, and she's always got my back. When I look at her I think I wanna be just like that."

We all gain little bits of our personality from our mothers, and thankfully for many of us it's their endearing strength and kindness.

4. Hey Mama - Kayne West

"I appreciate what you allowed for me, and I want you to be proud of me."

This song is the ultimate shoutout for the amazing moms in this world and all they do for us.

5. Mother Like Mine - The Band Perry

"Oh the wars would all be over cause she'd raise us all as friends, and no one would ever wonder if somebody wanted them."

This is my personal favorite because of how beautiful it is, and it's the perfect song to send to your mom this Mother's Day. Let her know how wonderful the world would be if everyone had a mom like her and I promise she won't have a dry eye.

6. The Best Day - Taylor Swift

"It's the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven drawfs, and daddy's smart and you're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world."

Told from the perspective of a child, Taylor Swift thanks her mom for all of the support and love she's given her while growing up. The simplicity of this thank you is what makes it truly special.

7. You Raise Me Up - Josh Groban

"You raise me up so I can stand on mountains, you raise me up to walk on stormy seas."

Without the strength our mothers raised us with, we wouldn't have the strength we have today to conquer the world.

8. Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion

"You gave me faith because you believed, I am everything I am because you loved me."

A mother's love is unconditional.

9. Wind Beneath My Wings - Beth Midler

"Did you ever know that you're my hero, and everything I would like to be?"

Moms always stand back while we conquer our dreams and succeed, cheering us on without the recognition they deserve.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
