In case you haven't noticed, Mother Nature has been a bit flaky lately. The weather can go from scorching hot to bitter cold to tornado fast winds all within one day. However, now that we've finally reached the middle of April, it seems as though Mother Nature is getting herself together. Here are 9 signs that spring has sprung on a college campus.
1. Hammocks
I had no idea this was a thing when I was in high school. But you had better believe wherever there are two trees, there is a hammock here on campus.
2. Frisbees everywhere
Keep your head out of your phone because it is extremely possible there will be a flying object whizzing by at any moment. Frisbees, tennis balls, footballs, baseballs, you name it.
3. The middle of campus is the place to be
There are people laying in the sun, people doing homework, music playing, frats and sororities doing fundraisers, and sometimes even free food or ice cream.
4. The dogs are out
By dogs I mean toes. Everyone is letting their feet breathe and showing off their new flip flops and pedicures.
5. Actual dogs are out
Having your college near a neighborhood is great because all of these wonderful people like to share their adorable puppies and walk them around campus.
6. You never find yourself alone
There are people EVERYWHERE. You will never find yourself walking around alone on campus at any time of day/night.
7. You can't see anyone's eyes
Sunglasses! Thank God for the sun and being blinded without these shades.
8. There are at least four different playlists within 100 ft radius
No one wants to give up the aux but it's fine because it's warm and nice and everyone is vibing.
9. There are many new smells
Some are good and some are... not so good. BBQ and freshly cut grass remind you that summer is almost here! The fresh mulch and manure, however, make you wish you stayed inside.
