I don’t know about you, but I didn’t choose the procrastination life. It kind of just happened. It’s honestly really hard to prevent, especially when you have something super important going on but other, smaller important things are simultaneously happening. Procrastination is a struggle that undoubtedly will haunt me for my entire existence.

1. You never know what to do first

What’s really important and should be at the top of your to-do list? Who actually knows? But you’ll definitely take forever trying to figure out where to start.

2. You realize you’re procrastinating and you try and fix it

I sit down to do homework and then I go to message someone a question about the class, which eventually leads to me just checking all the notifications on my phone (yes, all two of them, but at least I’m getting out of homework).

3. You procrastinate procrastination

I realize I have SO much to do that I CANNOT waste time…. And then I waste time thinking about all the time I can’t afford to waste. Go me and go you, if you’re in the same boat.

4. You’ll do anything to get out of doing something you really don’t want to do

Maybe you’re like me and you’ll start doing something and then someone will ask you for help and you’ll stop what you’re doing to help them. 'Cause, let's be serious, anything is more exciting than what you’re actually supposed to be doing.

5. You kind of hate yourself but like, you also really don’t

I get annoyed that I procrastinate so much, and it really irritates me. But also, this is who I am so, oh well.

6. When it’s finally time to actually do something you’re usually really good about getting it done

I’m really a last-minute person, even though I hate it. This article is a great example of that (super sorry I’m like this.) I really wish I was one of those people who planned things out and stuck with my schedule. Unfortunately, my planner is full, but I really like to do my own thing.

7. Maybe you don’t mean to procrastinate but you really had no idea what you were supposed to be doing

I feel this one deep in my soul because life is confusing. Sometimes you’re trying to find the solution for your question and it’s really just not happening, so you have to wait a while.

8. You do something that isn’t actually due yet instead of doing what’s due now

Maybe you’re like me and my friends and you’ll do your homework that’s due Friday instead of the homework that’s due Monday. But hey, look at us getting shit done.

9. You do other non-school related things instead of assignments

Usually, you might put off cleaning your room, but if there’s an assignment you’re dreading you’ll take dirty laundry and trash over an eight-page paper any day.

Maybe you’re a procrastinator, maybe you’re not. Odds are you’re guilty of at least one of these, and that’s totally okay. Sometimes it’s good to worry about other things first or maybe you really were living in a pigsty. Either way, I’m sure you’ll find your way out of it and fake it 'till you make it.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
