Lists! Lists! Lists! Who doesn't love lists?

If you raised your hand because you don't love lists, then I hope you give them a second chance after reading this! Now if you're like me and you live your life through lists- then join the party! Lists are so essential for so many different reasons, my favorite being: keeping me organized all while accomplishing small goals.

I find it extremely easy to desire to get so much done in one day or to accomplish such big goals during the week- lists are the only way that any of life's nonsense can get done! Small goals and accomplishments are definitely key to not feeling like you are a failure or like you aren't getting enough done! If you want to get more organized, or at least feel more accomplished by crossing things off a list, then grab a piece of paper and a colorful pen!

My biggest tip is to write down small tasks and goals because you feel so much more motivated to get those crossed off consistently, all while working towards a larger goal!

1. Because we all get easily distracted in the store

I mean who doesn't get distracted strutting down the target aisles?

2. Keep you organized

Because I don't check my planner enough but sticky notes list will remind me

3. Because there are 17 things we need to do in a day that won't get done

I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only forgetful person on the planet. So, if I am able to write things down throughout the day, the 17 things I have to do won't be forgotten about.

4. Motivation

Because crossing things off a list simply feels good. I can easily begin so many tasks, I'm sure all of you could- but with lists, if you finish something you get to cross it off and that's a reward in itself!

5. Achieve small goals

Lists make achieving large goals easier because you get to check off small goals first!

6. Reward system

Make a reward system for yourself! If you can finish 3 things on your checklist in one day you get extra time for Netflix, or a new shirt from your favorite store- or a snack break, or even just a break to rest!

7. Lists can even be places you want to go!

Make a list of restaurants you want to try, places you want to adventure to or even movies you want to watch with your friends! Lists don't have to always be tasks, they can be fun!

8. Handwritten lists are more easily retained.

It is scientifically proven that if you handwrite something, you will retain it better. Therefore, handwritten lists will not only ensure you have it written down somewhere- but it will help engrave your to-do items in your brain!

9. Write down fun things you want to do for self-care activities.

When you live such a busy life and you are constantly worrying about crossing things off lists, take time to make a list of self care things you want to do or fun places you want to go and don't worry about crossing them off but having access to a list specifically for you in your free time!

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
