Loving us just feels write.

The 9 Reasons To Date A Writer
Love Life Live Mag

We writers can get a bad rap.

We’re taking the plunge into the abyss of self-employment as wildly creative creatures who have a love affair with language. We might be broke for the next decade (or until we land that first book deal), but dating us isn’t as bad as you might think. Here are the top 9 reasons you need to find yourself a writer to hold tight at night:

1. You get the best cards.

Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries – you name a socially acceptable event for us to share our feelings, and we’ll do it. Give us an excuse to gush about you, and I promise you won’t be disappointed. And we won’t be short winded. That’s also a promise.

2. We step up your Instagram game.

Have trouble thinking of the punniest, wittiest, most perfect captions? Well that makes one of us. We’re more than flattered to help you out with your word game and those catchy phrases that’ll snag you likes – just like you snagged our hearts.

3. You always know how we feel.

Writing is vulnerable, and we are, too. We’re not afraid to tell you how we feel, and sometimes that means in print. Writing is extra comfortable for us, and thus, it's likely our favorite form of communication. On the bright side, you’ll never need help reading us – literally. We wear our hearts on paper.

4. You get alone time.

You have time for you, because we need time for us. We often need blocks of creative time to really find a groove and to immerse ourselves in our work. The upside: you get to do the exact same thing, which can be beneficial to both parties as they develop themselves, while also growing together.

5. You always have a human spell check.

Between spelling, grammar, and subject-verb agreement, we’ve got you covered. We know grammar can be tricky, but we also know that we love it. And we love when people use it correctly. You're guaranteed a real time, lightning fast resource for all of your English and writing needs. Even when you don’t have LTE.

6. We’re never at a loss for words.

... Whether you like it or not. We love words. In fact, we love them so much that we use them for a living. We always have something to say – and you’ll know it. So put your listening ears on, and get ready for whatever it is we have to say. Which could be a lot.

7. You’re close to us, even when we’re not there.

Whenever you’re having a bad day, feeling lonely, or missing us dearly (which will probably be a lot), you’ll always have us right at your fingertips. Whether it’s our blog, our published work, or simply the letters we’ve written you, our thoughts and phrases are just a read away – no matter where we are. Lucky for you, we’re always (somewhat) accessible, and you can feel close to us, even when we can't be together.

8. We write the best love notes.

You won’t really understand until you fall in love with us, but we’ll tell you how much we love you like no one else can, so you feel loved like no one else does.

9. If we break up, you know'll how we’re doing.

We’ve always been apt to write about our feelings, and just because we broke up doesn’t mean we’re going to stop writing. You can be sure that we’re publishing all of our latest feelings and heartbreaks on our usual public mediums, free for your eyes to see. Now we just have some new material - so thanks for that.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
