I don’t think I could sacrifice anything for the relationship that I have with my mom, she is one of the most important and influential people in my life. I don’t know how some people go for weeks, months or years without their mother’s because I can’t go a day without talking to mine.
9. She always picks up the phone no matter what time it is.
No matter if it's 2 a.m., I can always count on my mom to pick up her phone. No matter what the issue is she is always willing to talk me through it, even if she is sacrificing sleep, her selfless nature always kicks in.
8. She puts me back in equilibrium.
No matter what I’m going through, or what horrific thing has happened that day, my mom always brings me back to equilibrium. She gives me her level-headed advice in order to make me realize how life is never going to go the way you plan it.
7. She teaches me.
Whether it’s one of her famous recipes, how to shave, how to put on makeup, my mom always is forever teaching me and giving me lessons whether or not I ask for them.
6. She is home.
Wherever I am, whether it is in a different country, a different state or just an unfamiliar place, my mom always brings me the feeling of home. No matter if we are far apart and it’s a simple phone call, it always brings peace to my mind knowing that no matter where I go, I will always have a home waiting for me.
5. Stealing her clothes.
Sometimes her old school clothes are only good for date functions or something that is 80s themed but I still love raiding her closet.
4. Hearing her say she’s proud.
One of the most valuable things is hearing one of your parents say they are proud of you. Sometimes in college, we ask ourselves why we do the things we do and sometimes we want to give up but hearing your mom say that she’s proud is equivalent to the feeling that it’s all worth it.
3. Relationship advice.
Whether she’s there to approve or disprove, console me after a breakup, moms always have the best advice when it comes to boys. They have been there. So trust them.
2. Her selflessness.
Whatever the situation, my mom always puts me before anything. It is in their nature and motherly instincts. And at times I feel like I need her the most she is always there.
1. Her youth.
No matter how old my mom gets, she will always have her youth. Whether it comes through her radiant smiles or her horrendous dance moves, she will forever be young. She will forever be my best friend.
