There's a special feeling that comes with turning the page of your favorite book or walking into a library. Unfortunately, however, not everyone associates the word "fun" with shelves of old books. Although reading is a wonderful hobby, there are some annoying aspects. It takes a true book-lover to fully understand the problems that come along with being a bibliophile.
1. The book is always better than the movie
You are that friend that walks into the movie theater and immediately starts complaining about how the movie will never be as good as the book. When the movie finally begins, you can't stop pointing out all the details Hollywood changed in the film version. For the next two hours you will be annoyed whoever wrote the script and your friends will be annoyed with you.
2. The library is your second home
When you get a second of free time, you want to spend every extra second in the library. Not many people enjoy the thought of spending the day inside surrounded by every book imaginable, but it's a perfect idea for you.
3. Losing track of time
Once you're settled in with your favorite book, it can be hard to put it down. Before you know it its 2 o'clock in the morning and you've read your book cover to cover. Time just flies out the window!
4. People don't understand why you won't get a Kindle
Of course your back is on fire after carrying around an extra 20 pounds in your backpack, but there's nothing like physically turning the page of a book in your hand instead of pressing a button. Technology is moving very fast nowadays, so it's nice to hold on to at least one old-fashioned thing.
5. Barnes & Noble is more exciting than Forever 21
A shopping spree feels like the perfect way to spend a rainy day, but instead of blowing your latest paycheck on clothes, you run straight to Barnes & Noble. There seems to always be a new book being released, and you need to get your hands on it as soon as possible!
6. Not enough space on the book shelf
Once the shopping spree to the local bookstore is over, it's time to decide how you're going to fit your new titles on your crowded bookshelf. It's like an intense game of Jenga trying to figure how to carefully stack them on top of eachother when there is no room on the shelf.
7. Deciding what to read next
There's so many good books in the world that it can be impossible to pick just one. Everyone knows I love books, which means my brain is flooded with recommendations from friends. It's always a tough choice, but deciding which book to pick up next is half the fun.
8. Wishing your favorite characters were real
I've always wanted to go to a party at Jay Gatsby's house at his luxurious mansion. I wish I could play with Scout and Jem in their home in Alabama. I thank authors like F. Scott Fitzgerald and Harper Lee for bringing such amazing characters to life.
9. Losing your page and feeling the world end
You fell asleep with a book in your hand and woke up with it on the floor, with a bookmark no where in sight. It's every bibliophiles worst nightmare, but hopefully you'll be able to find your spot in no time.
