New York City is an incredibly unique place. There are infinite food options and so many fun things to do, like visiting museums, shopping, going to Central Park, and more! For first-time visitors, it can be a nerve-wracking experience to be in such a big city, but it’s also really fun!

Here are nine .GIFs describing the thoughts of most first-time visitors.

1. Fear of getting lost on the subway.

If you get lost, it takes so much time and energy to get back. Talk about stressful!

2. Being in awe of Times Square.

There really is nothing like it. The lights, huge crowds, and the storefronts everywhere you look make an amazing sight!

3. Seeing your first Broadway show.

It’s absolutely insane how much talent they have. It makes artsy people simultaneously want to perform and also feel completely inadequate.

4. Realizing how much walking you’ll do.

You’ll easily get 20,000+ steps, even taking the subway! Maybe you'll be able to burn off some of the delicious food you're eating.

5. Being sad about how many homeless people there are.

It is a struggle because you don’t know when or how to help. Giving a bottle of water or a smile are always good alternatives to giving money if you can't.

6. Realizing how many good options there are for meals.

Your stomach will never be so happy as when you’re in New York City. They understand the correct portions of cheese there!

7. Being scared you will have your money stolen.

It’s not as common as you’d think, but it’s still worrisome. I recommend crossbody purses and phones in the front pocket of your pants!

8. Falling into bed at night absolutely exhausted.

It’s the best feeling ever because you’re going from early in the morning to late at night. You have to fit everything into that short period you're in the city.

9. When you’ve planned out your entire life there and then you have to go home to reality.

It’s truly a tragedy. Until next time, NYC!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
