'Frosé' is this summer's biggest craze and if you haven't tried it, now is the time! With the summer weather heating up, it's the perfect time of the year to freeze your favorite drinks. When people usually think of frozen summer drinks they think of a frozen marg or a fancy blended colada made with countless amounts of different types of fruity alcohol.
These nine recipes are short and definitely sweet:
1. Screwdriver
To make frozen screwdriver milkshakes, blend five ounces of vodka, one and a half cups of orange juice, one tablespoon granulated sugar or agave nectar, one cup vanilla ice cream, and one and a half cups of crushed ice cubes. This serves three.
2. Gin and Tonic
To make four frozen gin and tonics, blend one cup of gin, three cups of tonic water, and two cups of ice until blended evenly. Squeeze a few limes in and decorate with a slice of lime/cucumber if you have one!3. Bailey's and Coffee
First chill 1/2 cup of your strongest coffee (espresso is best). Then blend the chilled coffee with 1/2 cup sugar, two tablespoons of Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur (or Kahlúa to save money), and one and a half cups of either whipping cream or coffee flavored ice cream. Add a cup of unsweetened mini chocolate chips for a mocha frap!
4. 'aritas
All you need are popsicle sticks and plastic cups or popsicle molds to make these boozy popsicles! Fill the cups or molds with a Bud Light Lime-A-Rita, Straw-Ber-Rita, Mang-O-Rita, Orange-A-Rita, Grape-A-Rita, Peach-A-Rita, or Lemon-Ade-Rita and freeze for at least six hours.
5. Not Your Father's Root Beer
Grab a tub of your favorite vanilla ice cream and replace regular root beer with Not Your Father's Root Beer! If you've ever had it you know how much it tastes like the real thing.
6. Cosmopolitan
To make a frozen cosmo, blend two ounces of cranberry juice, 1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice, one and a half ounces of plain or citrus vodka, 3/4 ounces of triple sec, and about one cup of ice. Add sugar and stir if needed.
7. Skippy (Drunk lemonade)
This recipe is perfect for fresh or store bought lemonade. Blend it with as much ice, light beer, and vodka as you see fit to make tons of summer 'skippy' for you and your friends. The consistency should be like a slushy.
8. Sangria
To make six of these fruity popsicles, chop up your favorite sangria fruits and evenly distribute them into either six store-bought popsicle molds or six small plastic cups. Next, mix a spritz of fresh lemon juice, 3/4 cup sweet red or white wine, 3/4 cup flavored seltzer water, 1/4 cup orange juice, and 3-4 tablespoons of granulated sugar or agave syrup (or another sweetener like honey) in a bowl until the sweetener dissolves. Evenly distribute this liquid to fill the remaining space in the molds or cups and freeze for at least six hours.
9. Rose
Last but not least, FROSÉ! To make four servings, pour one bottle of dark rosé wine into a container and freeze over night. Blend the slushy wine with 1/4 cup vodka and 4-6 tablespoons strawberry simple syrup or fresh strawberries and sugar, depending on how sweet you want your drink to be. Serve immediately and enjoy!
