Fall break is finally among us, or sadly over for some of us. In either case, it's bound to be, or have been, a beautiful few days off. No classes, no stress for the most part and time to catch up on the literally days of sleep you've probably missed out on since school started. Oh, and also food. So. Much. Home cooked. Food. Could you really ask for anything more? So whether you're patiently waiting for you time off, or whether it just ended, here are a few thoughts that have definitely gone through your head.

1. "Was home always this beautiful?"

Not just aesthetically, but in every sense of the word. You missed it more than you'd like to let on, but the fact that you've been laying on the living room floor with your pet for the last two hours might just give you away.

2. "I've never wanted my mom's cooking more than I do right now."

You love a good home cooked meal, but you've never wanted one quite as bad as you do the moment you step through the front door of your home and smell something baking in the kitchen. What you'd really like to have right now is every single meal your parents have ever cooked you.

3. "I think I might just sleep for the next four days."

You don't remember the last time you go an entire night's sleep. Somehow over the course of the last two months, five hours a night became the norm, but if there's one thing you're going to do over fall break, it's make up on for all that lost sleep.

4. "I'm going to pet my pets until they can't stand me."

Okay, you really, really missed your pets. Your cat is probably going to hate you by the time you leave because you literally can't bring yourself to put him down, but that's what happens when you go months without seeing the cutest little fur ball in the world, right?

5. "OK, I really missed my family."

It's been way too long since you've seen your family, and you're so happy to get to see them now. They're just as crazy and lovable as you remembered, and you're beginning to think that four days of fall break definitely isn't enough time to come home and see them.

6. "I have homework, how did I manage to forget about all this homework?"

Sometimes fall break feels more like summer break, in that when you leave, you really don't think about coming back. Except four days isn't actually as long as you make it seem in your head, and you actually have homework due in basically all your classes for the next week, which you've somehow managed to forget about until the night before you leave.

7. "I don't want to go back, not even a little bit."

OK, so you might be over-exaggerating JUST a bit, but when it comes time to leave, we all know that feeling you get about having to go back to class the following day. Fall break is a time to eat, sleep, and see your family, and you're definitely not ready to go back to reality just yet.

8. "I'm glad to be back."

When it comes down to it, you'll always leave a little piece of yourself back at home, but that doesn't mean you can't also leave a piece of yourself back at school. You love everything about where you come from, but you always love where you're going, and when you think about that, going back to school really isn't all that bad.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
