Within every squad is a person who seems to take on the role similar to that of a mom. This person is constantly rooting for the safer option, avoiding risks, and urging you to make smart choices. They look out for you even when you don't ask them to, and for that reason, you and your crew have labeled them the "Mom" of your friend group. If this person is you, you probably get the "just live a little" or "let loose" or "stop worrying so much" from your friends, and as much you might want to let go and be carefree, it's just too risky to leave it up to anyone else but yourself to be the responsible for the night. Trust me, I've been there. And I'm here to tell you that there is nothing wrong with being that person!
1. "Do you have your seatbelt on?"
Whether I'm the driver or not, I always check to make sure all passengers have their seatbelts on. I can't help it!
2. "Make sure you put sunscreen on!"
I think this is mostly because I get burned easily myself and I would hate to see one my BFFs suffering. I guess it's just the Mom in me!
3. "Did you bring a sweater? It might get cold."
Being prepared for things such as variable weather is absolutely necessary. You just never know when it might start snowing in August or when the sun might break through in January, am I right?!
4. "Be careful!"
Advising your friends to be cautious is constant because you can't stop anticipating the worst. Every "what if" scenario crosses your mind, but you don't care because you're always ready to jump into action if something goes wrong!
5. "It's time to go home."
Sometimes giving your friends a little gentle push so you can safely get them home is necessary.
6. "You're so cute!"
If you don't comment this on your friends' pics on Instagram, are you even the Mom of your group???
7. "Please make smart decisions! And call if you need anything!"
When you can't be with your friends while they're out, you still remind them that you are always just a call away.
8. "I love you!"
Letting your friends know that you care is something you do in pretty much everything you say, and expressing that to them is evident in things like asking them if they have their seatbelt on. It's the same thing as telling them explicitly that you love them and want them to live should there be an accident. Still, sometimes saying those three little words is a must.
