8 Things You Must Do In Las Vegas
A Make Believe World- A Travel Blog

There's something for everyone in Las Vegas. Here's a few things you must do if you ever find yourself there on vacation. Don't worry if you're not 21, because everything on here is family friendly!

1. Walk on the strip

The Las Vegas strip is the heart of Vegas. Many of the major casinos, resorts, and restaurants are located on the strip. Day and night, it’s always the place to be.

2. Take a picture with the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign

Did you really go to Vegas if you didn’t have your picture taken with the sign?

3. The Stratosphere Observation Deck

The observation deck is the tallest observation tower in the United Sates! The entire tower is 1,149 feet, but the observation deck sits at 865 feet giving you a 360-degree view of Las Vegas. There are rides, shops, a bar, a restaurant, and so many more things at the stratosphere.

4. The Bellagio Conservatory and Fountains

The Bellagio has this huge area that they change every few months to match the seasons and/holidays. It’s usually breathtaking and definitely picture worthy. Outside, in front, they have these dancing fountains and they are so pretty.

5. New York New York hotel and casino

Located on the Strip, New York New York is one of my favorites. They have smaller versions of the statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Empire State building.

6. Fremont Street

There’s always something going on here, especially on Friday and Saturdays. You can find bands. There’s also fake Elvis, Spiderman, Batman, and many other people. You can zip line over the top and so much more. That doesn’t even include the casinos and shops lining it.

7. Red Rock Canyon

Technically, this isn’t Vegas, but it’s pretty close to it so it makes the list! Red Rock Canyon is so beautiful. It’s about 13 miles to go through it, you can just drive the entire way. Or you can park your car at one of the many different spots and go on aa hiking trail! They have easy, moderate, and hard trails that are all different. You can also climb on the rocks as long as it’s not marked off for being unstable.

8. Shop

There’s so many different places to go shopping. You can find so many different shopping centers on the strip. There is an outdoor mall out by Red Rock. Another outdoor mall is about 2 miles from the stratosphere, its huge and has like every store you could think of. There’s an indoor mall right around the corner from the airport you can stop by on your way out of town for some last minute pickups or if you want to shop without the heat!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
