It really is the most wonderful time of the year!

This time of the year is one of my favorite times of the year. I love getting into the festive spirit and doing Christmas/Winter-themed activities with friends and family. This is the time of the year where you get to spend every moment with your loved ones and express just how much you love and appreciate them. It truly is "the most wonderful time of the year". Here are a few of my favorite things to do during my holiday break. So, if you're bored one day, maybe give a few of these ideas a shot!

1. Go ice skating!

Get a group of friends or your significant other and go ice skating! At first, it's kind of hard, but as you get further into the skate session, you become more of a pro and ice skating becomes even more fun! Yes, falling all over the place and laughing at each other's stupidity is fun, but actually being able to glide along the ice and jam out to the music, without getting wet and hurt, is just as much fun!

2. Starbucks dates!

One of my favorite things to do is get a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks and then go to Target with a friend or my boyfriend and just look at all of the cute holiday decorations and winter clothes they have there. I usually come out of Target with many bags full of Christmas decor and not just the $1 Christmas socks I planned on getting. Or, if you're not a Target person, just hang out in Starbucks and either chat or catch up on some work!

3. Have a Christmas cookie baking party!

Get all your closest friends together to bake and decorate cookies. It's so fun to fail at baking with your friends. Even if the cookies don't turn out alright, you still have a good story to tell!

4. Decorate EVERYTHING in Christmas lights!

I decorate the Christmas tree, my room, my house, my neighbor's house, and even my sister. LITERALLY, ANYTHING CAN BE COVERED IN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!

5. Spend time with family!

I don't know about your family, but mine always knows how to get LIT during the holidays. Family parties are full of our whole Italian family, (there's like 60 of us), shouting Christmas carols and dancing around the kitchen.

6. Go Christmas caroling!

My family used to go caroling at an old folks home every year and that was honestly the highlight of my entire year. Also, my mom's friend has a caroling party every year where we'd get hot cocoa and walk around her neighborhood and sing carols at the top of our lungs. I love walking around the neighborhood and surprising people by serenading them. It will either make their night or they'll be highly aggravated that they have a bunch of strangers on their door step making a lot of ruckus after they just put their baby to sleep.

7. Drive around and see all the Christmas lights!

Some people go all out and connect to a radio station and create a light show by matching their lights on their house to go with the music. It's actually more entertaining than you'd think! Driving around and looking at all of the pretty lights will definitely make you feel cheery and warm inside.

8. Movie days!

Having days where I can just lay around in my Christmas pajamas and fuzzy socks, drink hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel are the days that I live for. Get a few friends and force them to come over and be festive. Or you could do it alone if you're not into sharing your hot cocoa.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
