8 things that make you feel productive

Besides the obvious, as girls, the very littlest things make us feel productive. Yes, passing your college classes and graduating top 10 in your class would make you feel hella productive but let's face it, the slightest things make us feel accomplished, too.

1. Being Tan

Everything is so much easier and enjoyable when your a few shades darker. Am I right? The sun implements the vitamin D in you and BAM. HAPPINESS.

2. Getting Our Nails Done

Now, I don't know about you but clean and polished nails make me feel like the classiest person in the world. It encourages me to get things done. I like to tap my freshly polished nails on my laptop keyboard and do my homework and just show them off whilst being the productive girl that I am.

3. Getting An Assignment Done Before The Due Date (Early)

We are all college kids with a thousand commitments on our plates. When we actually do something early and not procrastinate to the very last second on Sunday night and pressing submit at 11:58 p.m., then yes it was a productive day.

4. Going to the Gym

Now all you gym rats and athletes out there, it's not you I'm talking to. This is everyone who says they're going to go to the gym today and then never do. It's those of you sitting on your couches thinking to yourself, yeah I should exercise today but ehhh let's not and say we did. Well, when we actually do go to the gym, it's a miracle and we must tell everyone we went because that means today was a day in history and you were PRODUCTIVE.

5. Cleaning Your Room.

I think we can all agree that our lives feel more together when our rooms are clean. I, personally, get can't anything done if my room is messy. It's like it's a metaphor for my life. If my room stays messy, so does my life.

6. Make a To-do List

Sometimes our lives feel so hectic and it just seems like there isn't enough hours in the day to actually accomplish and do everything that we've put on our plate. So, when you make a to-do list, this can be beneficial in looking at all your obligations and preparing to actually do them.

7. Actually Crossing Items Off On Your To-Do List

This is a big one. You can make a to-do list, but to do everything on it is the hard part (duh). And when you cross something off, that's like the biggest pat on the back EVER. It's like hey guys look, I needed to do this and I DID. hence the big black line through it. Are you proud?

8. Cleaning Out Your Car

This is a similar feeling to cleaning your room, but not quite. Cleaning your room not only makes you feel good and accomplished but it keeps your parents or roommates happy because everything is cleaner in the house. However, cleaning out and washing your car is something just for you. You're usually the only one driving around in it so it's filled with paper straws and water bottles and receipts from McDonald's and god only knows what else. Let's face it, we're gross. But once it's clean, you are able to cruise around in your crystal ball on wheels because you're a productive queen on the way to your next obligation on your to-do list.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
