We live in a society that makes it so easy to be incredibly hard on ourselves. Every second of the day there are constant reminders of things that we can improve upon or things that other people have that you may not. It's a tough world to be proud of yourself in, and a tough world to be content in. I struggle with this often; the comparison, the insecurity, and the discontent. Some days, I feel like I'm nowhere near being the person that I want to be. This is not a unique feeling - I think we all experience it to a certain extent. However, I am tired of feeling this way, and I have decided to combat it. Here are eight affirmations that I plan on looking myself in the eyes and telling myself each morning from here on out:
