8 Ways Pennywise Could Lure Penn State Students Into The Sewer

Everyone has their weak spot.

After seeing the film "It" based on Stephen King's 1986 horror novel, I left the theater with one question on my mind: what exactly would tempt me to listen to a creepy clown and be lured into a sewer? You may think that you wouldn't be that dumb to fall for a trick as easy as that, but everyone has their weak spot. For Penn State students, there are quite a few reasons why you'd be tempted to follow Pennywise into the unknown.

Here are my top 8 in no particular order:

1. Free tuition

Whether you're an in-state or out-of-state student, one thing we all wish for is free tuition. We spend thousands of dollars every year to go to this amazing place we call home, but as much as we love it, we can't deny how expensive it is. Even for in-state students, Penn State is the most expensive state school in the country for Pennsylvania residents.

2. Season football tickets

I'm fortunate enough to have season football tickets this year, but not everyone is so lucky. For those who don't have season tickets, I'm sure you'd do just about anything to be able to not stress about finding a ticket to the Michigan white out game or when we played against Pitt.

3. Pokey stix

Pokey stix are just about everyone's guilty pleasure. If you don't have pokey stix in your life, would you really be able to function?

4. Free alcohol

Penn State students spend hundreds of dollars on alcohol whether it's their own or it goes to the bars. If alcohol was free, I'm sure people wouldn't be as scared to look at their bank account balance every single day.

5. Reliable CATA bus service

I can't tell you the number of times I've relied on the CATA app to catch a ride downtown or to class. It can be extremely frustrating when the app isn't reliable or when the bus breaks down. I'm sure Pennywise would love to help with your CATA troubles.

6. Classes being canceled

Whenever I receive a notification that my class is cancelled, I can't help but feel relieved. I have extra time in my day to sleep in, run errands, and just relax. We all need more days like this.

7. 24/7 Dining Commons

One thing that I wish Penn State had was 24/7 dining commons. This would be life changing. There have been so many times I've had late night cravings and haven't been able to do anything about it. Imagine the possibilities if 24/7 dining existed at Penn State.

8. No long lunch lines at the HUB

Going to the HUB can be a scary experience if you go during lunch hour rush. Waiting in super long lines isn't fun, especially when they're about to let you in and they close the gate. That's the worst. I'm sure we all wouldn't mind if we never had to deal with that again.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
