Let's face it, living in a developed country really sucks. It goes without saying, but things can get pretty boring when you don't live in a war-torn hellhole or experience the stress of poverty and starvation on a daily basis. If you grew up in a safe and affluent suburb like I did, you'll definitely be able to relate to a few of these!
1. When the people at Starbucks don't understand what EXTRA caramel means.
If I only wanted 14 shots, I would have said so. Seems obvious to me.
2. When that one friend refuses to get an iPhone and all your messages to them are still green.
Actually the worst thing.
3. When the Cinnabon at your local mall closes 15 minutes early.
Do I really need to say more?
4. When that recipe you tried to make doesn't look anything like it did in the quirky BuzzFeed video.
They promised I could take my avocado obsession to the next level, but I knew that it was too good to be true.
5. When you attend a charity event and it doesn't get enough likes on Facebook.
So much for smallpox awareness, am I right???
6. When somebody named Megan wears the same dress to the prom as you.
Literally everyone knows you bought it first, but whatever.
7. When you come home from studying abroad and have to readjust to more ordinary forms of privilege.
Because watching Netflix in your home country just isn't the same
8. When you wake up one day and realize that our time on earth is ultimately meaningless and that not all of life's problems can be reduced to one-sentence complaints in clickbait articles.
Always a real bummer.
