We all know who is that sensitive person in our group of friends, and if you don’t know… well, maybe it is you! Here is some good news for you: being sensitive is not a negative thing at all. In fact, being sensitive carries a ton of positive characteristics! Keep reading and you’ll find out all that forms part of your great personality that maybe you haven’t noticed yet.
1. You feel more deeply.
Sensitive people feel everything more than their less-sensitive friends. You like to process things on a deep level to try to figure things out. You will not just ‘feel’; you will think about what you feel and analyze if it’s going to benefit you or not, and then act accordingly.
2. You react more emotionally.
This means that you do not take any situation lightly. You will give your attention to any situation, especially if it’s about a friend. You will be more concerned about the ones around you, and you will try to understand your friend and listen to him/her. It is not an obligation for you; it is simply something natural that is part of you.
3. It takes longer for you to make decisions.
Although that sounds terribly negative, it actually can be very helpful at the end. While other less-sensitive people make snap judgements, you evaluate and analyze all the options and even seek out advice from a few people to make the best decision. Details are a very important thing to you, which makes the process take longer. But the result of your good decisions makes it worth it.
4. You don’t overlook details.
You are the one noticing the details in a room, the new shoes that your best friend is wearing, if someone is trying to hide their sadness, etc. Details are what capture your eye, and you just don’t sit and do nothing about it. You always try to make things better if you can.
5. You are your friend’s confidant.
Since you are a deep thinker and evaluate things based on the result, your friends come to you to seek for advice. Though you will not make the final decision to your friend, you will analyze the pros and cons of each situation so that your friend can see everything from an outside perspective, and then leave the final decision up to him/her.
6. You cry more easily.
You tend to put yourself in other people’s shoes. So when they are suffering and crying, it’s almost an automatic response for you to cry. But a beautiful sunset can make you cry as well. There’s nothing shameful in crying easily.
7. Saying “no” to people is very hard for you.
You don’t want to hurt people or be misunderstood as someone that doesn’t care, because you do care! So you prefer to avoid saying “no” to the people so that they can see that you are always there for them whenever they need you.
8. You are very appreciative.
You not only see the things that are before you, but you also see the “behind the scenes” of everything and because of that you don’t hesitate to show gratefulness to the people in your life!
Though it may bring its fair share of challenges, being sensitive is never a bad thing - embrace it! Then, and only then, will you be able to find true happiness and live up to your full potential.
