Nobody likes to work for a living, however, it can be so much better with those people who can be considered friends. If you don't have friends at work then what are you doing? Having work friends is one of the best things in life. Work can be a bust but making friends at work can make the work day go by so much faster. Here are 8 reasons why you should have work friends:
1. Most of the time, they don't mind switching shifts with you when you ask them to switch
When I need a day off or I have plans on a day I am scheduled to work, I usually ask my friends if they would switch with me and they usually say yes and I do the same for them when they need a day off.
2. They can make you laugh and they engage you in a good conversation
My work friends are so funny and they can make me laugh even when I'm having a bad day.
3. You can talk about the co-workers/customers y'all aren't fond of with each other
Nobody likes all of their co-workers and most of the time, you and your friends can agree on who y'all aren't fond of. This can also apply to customers as well. I appreciate their honesty and they can tell me anything.
4. You can look forward to working when you're scheduled to work with your friends
When I see the schedule and I see that I work with my friends, I look forward to working because I know it will be a good day.
5. You can buy your friends gifts and they can buy you gifts
For Christmas this year, I am buying my work friends gifts and they are buying me gifts because we care about each other and we have that special bond.
6. You can say you made 'new friends'' outside of school
I wasn't expecting to make friends at work but I'm glad I did because I can say I made new friends and it didn't take that much effort either.
7. You can hang with your friends after work and/or outside of work
I definitely think hanging out with your work friends is fun because you can talk about anything including or not including work.
8. You can consider them your favorite co-worker
They're your favorite co-workers because they work really well with you and they are really good friends to and for you.
There are definitely a lot of people that you meet in life but co-workers are those people you see a lot. If they become your friends, it's a great feeling. You can enjoy work without having your mind on things that don't matter as much. They know your secrets and you know theirs. They trust you and you trust them. I never thought I would never make another friend again but I am glad I did. I made so many friends at my job and I couldn't ask for anything better.
