Snow days are one of the plus sides of going to college in New England. It's really cold and miserable while walking to class and going out on weekends means knowing you're going to freeze your butt off, but when snow days come around, it's all worth it.
1. No classes -- duh.
Not only does this mean no school for a day, it also means no trudging through the snow to class while trying to avoid wind chill on your face and possibly slipping in front of your professor.
2. Your best friends are right next door.
You don't have to worry about the roads being closed because all of your favorite people are within walking distance or right next door to you.
3. Food is easily accessible and already prepared.
If you're lucky enough to live in a dorm that has a dining hall in it, you can meander down there whenever your heart desires and you don't even have to rummage through the fridge for something to eat.
4. Day drinking. This is self explanatory.
5. It's an excuse to wear your pajamas all day.
Your mom can't tell you to put on some "real" clothes or take a shower. No rules!
6. The campus looks beautiful.
7. If you're a brave soul, it's perfect for adventuring and sledding.
Time to let the inner child in you loose and build a snowman -- except please don't sing that song from "Frozen."
8. You don't have to make up any missed days.
Unlike high school where you would be sitting in class until July, you're going to move out in May, regardless of snow days. So bring it on, New England!
