A lot has happened in the past week for the Paramore fandom. Potential song titles for their upcoming fifth studio album got put up on ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers). The next day, an interview with singer Hayley Williams came out and she talked about how she almost quit the band two years ago. The next day, a picture got leaked that showed Paramore possibly shooting a music video. Finally, today (Friday, March 17th), there are rumors going around that Paramore are messaging fan accounts on Twitter telling them to hype people up by tweeting lyrics. 5more is on it's way and here's why you should be excited.
1. Zac Farro Is Back
Last month, Paramore announced that former drummer Zac Farro was returning to the band after over six years. Zac left in late 2010 along with his brother Josh. Josh posted an angry blog post about how he thought Paramore was all about Hayley. We didn't really hear much about why Zac left, but we're assuming he just left because his brother did. During this time, guitarist Taylor York remained good friends with Zac and Hayley and Zac have recently rekindled their friendship. When Paramore started recording their new album last summer, they revealed that Zac was playing drums on the album. No one thought he was permanently back because he has his own solo project called HalfNoise. But then in February, Paramore announced with a t-shirt of young Zac's face on it that he was back in the band. I couldn't be happier. Zac is an amazing drummer and I love his friendship with Hayley and Taylor.
2. Justin Meldal-Johnsen
Justin Meldal-Johnsen produced Paramore's previous self-titled album in 2013 and it became Paramore's first number 1 album and the song "Ain't It Fun" won a Grammy in 2015. This guy knows what he's doing. He really pushed Paramore to try new things and go outside of their comfort zone on the last album, I can't imagine what ideas he had for them this time.
3. Taylor York
Taylor York is what kept Paramore together, okay. He's such an important part of Paramore and he doesn't get talked about enough and I love him so much. He plays guitar, drums, and knows a little bit about producing. He wrote pretty much all the music for Paramore's previous album. He's so talented and I'm ready for more T-York appreciation when the album drops.
4. Hayley Williams
The most well-known member of Paramore. I'm so ready to hear new incredible lyrics from her. Maybe I'm biased because Paramore is my favorite band, but Hayley is my favorite lyricist of all time. I'm ready to hear new things she does with her singing voice. I'm ready, man.
5. Touring!!
A new album cycle means new tours! Last time I saw Paramore was almost two years ago at the Writing the Future tour and I'm just aching to see them again. I've seen them five times and there is nothing better in this world than a Paramore show. The best day of my entire life was when I was front row at a Paramore concert in 2013. The only thing that could beat front row would be to meet them.
6. New Photoshoots
Everyone in Paramore is really nice looking, okay.
7. New Music Videos
As I mentioned before, someone leaked a photo of Paramore potentially at a music video shoot the other day.
8. Did I Mention We Get A Whole New Album To Enjoy?
It's been four years since 2013's self-titled album was released. I need to hear these new songs.
5more is on the way and I probably won't stop talking about for ten years, but I don't care. My favorite band is doing things. I'm excited.
