8 Gifts You Had No Idea Existed
kiplinger.com

We’ve all been there. Don’t lie, you have too. You waited until the last minute to get a gift for a birthday, Christmas, graduation, you name it, and now you don’t know what to do. Do you run to Target and get the appropriate mug with one of those sweaters around it? Do you re-gift something you have? Do you push off seeing that person for so long that they forget that you didn’t get them a gift? All plausible options, however, don’t panic yet. By doing my research (translation: by spending way too much time on the internet endlessly clicking through wherever Google takes me) I have stumbled upon MANY out-of-the box gift ideas. Are all of these ideas necessarily worthy of giving someone for an actual occasion? Ok, no. Are some of these ideas actually pretty interesting and somewhat meaningful? I’ll let you decide. Either way, I put together a healthy mix of ideas to inspire the gift-giver in you.

Customized Bobble Heads (bobbleheadsme.com)

What better way to let someone know you’re thinking of them than a tiny sized bobble head version of themselves! This website allows you to customize bobble heads to look like your favorite sports figures, someone you know, and even pets.

Send A Message On A Potato (potatoparcel.com)

Yes, you read that correctly. This ingenious website allows you to send a message written on a potato to a lucky recipient for the low price of $9.99. (Just make sure your message doesn't exceed 130 characters)

Race A Lamborghini (cloud9living.com)

That’s right, you can pay to race a Lamborghini for your choice of 3 or 6 laps. Choose from several different models of the car for your joy ride. (Disclaimer: you don’t get to keep the car)

Personalized Socks (uncommongoods.com)

Send your favorite sock-wearer a pair of socks with their name or initials on them! Get a pack of five pairs made from Supima cotton and never go without a non-monogramed pair of socks again!

Spring Loaded Glitter Bomb (theglittergrenade.com)

I had to throw one of these in here for those of you who enjoy pranks (or have personal vendettas). Glitter bombs can be funny, but also extremely annoying and hard to clean up, making them a great gag gift or the perfect way to ruin someone’s day.

Girlfriend Pillow (amazon.com)

Send a pillow complete with an arm to snuggle with to that lonely person in your life. This cuddle buddy that won’t talk back is available on Amazon for under $30!

Hire A Personal Paparazzi (famousforaday.co)

Know someone who has always wanted to be in the spotlight? Well, you can hire someone to follow them around for a day and act as their personal paparazzo so they can live out their dreams!

Name A Star (star-registration.com

Star-registration.com actually lets you choose between naming a single star, a constellation, or a binary star. Once you name and register the star, it’s yours forever!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
