We're lucky to live in the age of Netflix and to have to opportunity to stream whatever we want whenever we want. It doesn't get much better than being able to binge watch all your favorite shows on your own time. As good as it may sound, Netflix brings out sides of you that you didn't even know were there.
1. Indecisiveness
You're staring at the screen scrolling through hundreds of series you've either already seen or have zero interest in. You know there has to be something out there worth your time and that might, just possibly, fill the void left by the ending of the last series you were sucked into, but you can't seem to find it anywhere.
2. Acceptance
The search is over and you settle on a show because you like the lead characters or maybe because your friend told you to watch it last time you were in this situation. Whatever the reason, you accept your fate and you're alright with it because you've finally made a decision. GO YOU!
3. Hope
The first episode was nothing to write home about but you figure you'll give it a shot anyway and hope for the best. You have some time to kill before work and on the plus side, that guy in the first episode that your friend told you about kind of makes it worth it.
4. Happiness
Wow, everything you've heard about this show is true. You feel like you know the characters personally and sometimes you even find yourself choosing to stay in on a Saturday night just so you can watch a couple more episodes and not stress about having more important things to do. Life is great again. You no longer feel empty inside, and there are still 4 more seasons.
5. Addiction
Alright, this is when things start to get ugly. You're skipping class, locking yourself in your room, putting your phone on silent and your roommates are starting to question your sanity. Who can blame you when each episode gets better and better, yet leaves you hanging. Does she live? Is he really going to take the blame? How did she get away with that?! There are so many questions to be answered, and you just can't stop now.
This can't be happening. You're on the second-to-last season and you feel the end creeping up on you. You've been here before and you're honestly not sure you can go through it again. It's like a painful break up where neither of you want it to end, but you both know that it has to. It was a blissful couple of weeks and if it was up to you, it would never end.
7. Denial
This is where things take a turn for the worst. You only have 3 episodes left and you refuse to watch them. If you drag it out a little longer maybe Netflix will come out with another season. Please Netflix, I'm begging you!
8. Emptiness
It happened. The end is here. You knew it would come eventually, but it all happened so quickly. Like Rihanna said, you found love in a hopeless place. You put yourself out there and found the cure to your broken heart only to have it ripped out again. It's a vicious cycle that we all subject ourselves to on a regular basis. But don't worry, there's another show out there waiting to bring you back to life.
