Growing up, I remember being exposed to some pretty amazing TV shows. While a lot of the shows were on PBS due to my family not having cable, I made sure to watch Disney as Nickelodeon as much as possible. It would be way too hard to rank these shows in order, but I can say with certainty that these were my go-to shows.

1. Caillou

I couldn't care less what anyone has to say about this gem, but Caillou was probably my favorite show when I was between the ages of 4 and 5. Every morning before Kindergarten my mom and I would put this on, and it was always a good time.

2. Dragon Tales

Dragon Tales was another show that was a morning favorite of mine. I loved Cassie the most, and I thought it was awesome that the show featured two Hispanic children. I was pretty devastated that I too couldn't wish on a dragon scale and be transported to Dragonland.

3. Mr. Rogers Neighborhood

OK, this show still makes me happy to this day if I'm being honest because Fred Rogers was just such a kind and pure person. Not to mention, the song that he sings at the end of every episode still gives me the feels every time.

4. Rugrats

Now, this is one show that was only available to me if I was somewhere with cable, but I never will forget it. I had one VCR tape that had two episodes on it, and that was always playing at my house. The person that created this show was a pure genius.

5. Arthur

Now Arthur was the show that I ran home from the bus stop every day after school to watch. My favorite episode was hands down the one when there is a fire at their school. I was on the edge of my seat for those whole 30 minutes. When Arthur memes circled around about a year ago, I was having the time of my life sending them to everyone.

6. Hannah Montana

Once I got older, Hannah Montana was everything to me. I remember being so extra that I got clothes from the Hannah Montana clothing line, and don't even get me started on the episode where she had to choose between Jake and Jesse. 10 year old me would have killed to have that Hannah closet.

7. Wizards of Waverly Place

This was also one of my favorites as I got older. Selena Gomez was so cool to me; I would have done anything to be like her. You can't even deny that the theme song is still a bop to this day.

8. Sagwa the Chinese Siamese Cat

For a while, I was CONVINCED that I made this tv show up or had a dream about it, but Sagwa was definitely a favorite of mine because of the Siamese cats. I was watching this show when I was around 4, and that was also around the time when we got our Siamese cat, Ruben.

So in conclusion, thank you PBS, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel for providing me with some pretty great television shows.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
