YES LAWD!!!

Anderson .Paak is considered one of the best modern artists at the moment. His sophomore effort Malibu became an overnight sensation, blending his cuddly vocals and drum skills with some hip-hop, soul, and even some neo-disco material. His band, The Free Nationals, are on the brink of releasing their own debut album, which is also going to feature .Paak.

His career, beginning in 2010, has skyrocketed with this new sound he has introduced, and his collaboration with producer Knwxledge as NxWorries has also made him a name to remember in alt-hip-hop. Their album Yes Lawd! has also become a favorite among fans of .Paak.

Why is .Paak and his powerful music related to finals week? It's simple: to get you through the personal hell that is finals week! Here are 8 great songs to listen to while studying, heading to your exam, or even after taking that rough exam.

1. "The Dreamer" (feat. Talib Kweli & Timan Family Choir)

(Youtube: Anderson .Paak)

The closing song on Malibu is a definite motivator as you stare down your countless study guides, lab reports, and even computer screens full of Quizlet terms and such. You got this!

2. "Suede" (as NxWorries)

(Youtube: Stones Throw)

As you head into your first exam, continue having that confidence and that swagger like this song has so you don't feel helpless. Keep fighting and get that good grade you deserve!

3. "What More Can I Say" (as NxWorries)

(Youtube: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)

A lot of expectations are put on us either by our professors, our family, even ourselves. This song can help you debrief after that tough exam or when that study group session has become stressful. Either way, .Paak has covered for some sultry tunes in this live version of "What More Can I Say" off Yes Lawd!

4. "I Miss That Whip"

(Youtube: Anderson .Paak - Topic)

A younger .Paak provides some acoustic vibes to your stressful finals week off his first album Venice. His vocals are perfect for those wishing for summer or even just wanting to go back to your high school days where finals weren't as intense. He feels your pain and wants you to shrug it off and keep moving forward.

5. "Put Me Thru"

(Youtube: Live Nation)

This live version of this banger from Malibu is often overlooked, but now that you have enough confidence to keep studying, you can power through anything. YES LAWD!

6. "Starlite" (as NxWorries)

(Youtube: NxWorries - Topic)

This sultry song off Yes Lawd! is a definite love song for many, but for those who are missing their significant other as finals become a priority, there's no doubt you'll have this on your playlist as you two stare at each other in the library. This is possibly the best song for any couple, so you two will have a lot to celebrate as finals week concludes.

7. "Come Down"

(Youtube: Recording Academy/GRAMMYS)

This remixed version of his best song off Malibu is your definite starting song as you begin studying, so never come down from that success high. Good luck!

8. "Heart Don't Stand a Chance"

(Youtube: Anderson .Paak)

Possibly the most underrated track off of Malibu, this song has powerful vocals, excellent instrumentals and a chill vibe that can get anyone ready for that last final or even celebrating the fact that finals are over and the semester is complete! YOU MADE IT!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
