Summer is one of the best times to hang out, take time for yourself, and focus on something other then school. If you find yourself bored and can't think of something to do, hopefully this will help you!

1. Learn something new.

Think of an instrument or language that you've always wanted to learn. What better time then then summer to start? You have the time so instead of sitting in front on the TV go out and expand your knowledge. There is always the option of enrolling in summer classes so you don't abruptly stop learning and you can continue learn something new everyday.

2. Take chances.

This summer, don't say "no" to an adventure that might arise. You don't want years to pass and look back at your summer with regrets. If someone asks you to do something, do it. What do you have to lose?

3. Road trip.

This is a summertime classic. Whether its driving across the country, the state next to you, or the next city over. A road trip is a road trip, it's all about the experience you have.

4. Spend time with family.

During the school year, most of us rarely see our family unless it's through a screen. Don't waste your free time sitting alone when you could be hanging out with your family, making memories that will last a lifetime.

5. Volunteer.

There is so much we take for granted now-a-days and so much we have that others don't. Give back to your community as a thanks for everything they've done and given to you. Find a local place to volunteer or travel and go volunteer abroad. The world is your oyster – make a difference, be apart of the change.

6. Work.

Get a job this summer, maybe even one you could keep through the school year. Don't you want to use your own money when you pay for things, feel a sense of independence? Not only will this help you with feeling independent but it will also help you in the future because you will have more experience.

7. Explore your town.

Whether you have lived in your town your whole life or you just moved there, there is always something new to find. The only way you are going to find it is by going out to explore. You never know, you could find your knew peaceful space or you could encounter your new hangout spot with your friends.

8. Read, tan, relax.

Whether it's with your friends or by yourself take time to relax and just chill. Life can become very overwhelming and sometimes you just need to take a minute to sit back and put your thoughts back together. Another idea is to drown yourself in someone else's story, read a book. You can let go of whatever you're going through for a short period of time and jump into an entirely new life.
